This is when TnB really start developing their relationship and deepen their characters because this is where Todd really falls for a real woman and is so unsure of himself and where she is able to get to him like no other.
One thing that always amazed me about RH was his ability to change his appearance so drastically w/ small things like facial hair, hair length/style, make-up, & attitude. For example, at this time, he reminded me of Ethan Hawke. When he was in jail, after the Georgie murder, he looked like Michael Douglas. After he got back from the Island, he looked similar to Aaron Ekhart. Other times, he looked like other actors. But, those actors don't resemble each other in any way. Part of his versatility.
I like the way Blair waits in one place, and makes him come back to where she is, instead of following him around the room, like she's chasing or begging him. She's giving him the opportunity to make the final decision about if he wants to be with her--without forcing him. That's works better with Todd than the kind of woman who pressures him, and begs and pleads and cries for his attentions.
kassie is brilliant in these scenes, so multi-layered. roger is too, but y'all already mentioned that :) together they are so believable, so tragic and so very sexy. but above all, these two misfits make us believe it's possible to change. pure magic!
Is this the first time he slept with a woman after raping marty? Cause if it is it probably didn't last long and maybe that's why blair didn't want anything to do with him (lol jk)
@scorpiolovin13 Hopefully, it went better than that. Remember a later scene, after Blair was avoiding Todd, when he said about their lovemaking, "You ENJOYED it!" She agreed that she had enjoyed it. So, assume that means she was "satisfied" by him. She also made comments later on that he was "wonderful" at lovemaking.
@laurelnroses lol i know. i was just joking. thats why i said jk. i know blair enjoyed the way todd put it on her, if she didnt she wouldnt of came back so many times. i mean after all theyve done to each other, the love is there there so, that already answers my rhetorical question. :)!!!!!!
In my opinion, they were already too close as friends to use each other for sex and not feel anything afterward. Todd pretended that he didn't feel anything because he knew it was what Blair wanted, but he was just hiding what he really felt (just like he always did). Blair may not have been as attached to him, but she definately had feelings that went past friendship. She proves that by wanting to detach herself from him afterward from a fear of being too obvious about her infidelity.
They way Roger says those lines is magnificent, one of his greatest moments, imo. You can feel both the sadness and shame he has towards his past, yet the determination and will to fight that past and be a normal man.So superb,Roger and his character he created were truly one of the brightest spots in daytime.
@bawoman - YES! You really hit the nail on the head with that comment! I LOVED that line. Humanizes him, and at the same time, makes use see that he is uncomfortable with what he has done. Brilliantly delivered by Roger.
@bawoman ICAM...without his brilliant delivery those words could easily have been empty. RH masterfully conveys Todd's need to say them & his struggle w/ the shame of having to. Heartbreaking.
Oh and I love that he admits he's not in control. It's evident in Blair's forwardness & his awkwardness, but saying it is so important in differentiating this experience from the rape.
Also, I adore KDP throughout...Blair's own desperation is palpable & her quiet patience & understanding is beautiful.
I've always liked these two as friends. Not a fan of them being paired together. I definitely didn't like that Blair used Todd at first for his money. Wrong.
It is so fun to watch them as true friends......with no agendas!!!!!!!!! They would have been great!!!!!!! I don't like that it turned into a total manipulation by Blair either........but that is what made his "return from the dead" so fun when he totally pushed her away!!!!!!!! If Blair would have been honest with him as a friend.......TNB would have had no boundries!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh, RH's acting choices-he brings so many layers to Todd-you can see how unsure he is around women, yet outwardly the tough guy, that's why Podd falls so flat for me-he has no vulnerability while he's sexing up everyone in Llanview-ugh
It is amazing the emotions you see Todd "go through" in these scenes. When he says "there are alot of things I've done that I'd like to forget......wow, talk about a packed statement!!!!!!! And when he tells Blair "if you want me to stop, just say so".......again wow......the guy is messed up!!!!!!!
those lines make me almost uncomfortable watching them, like i feel i shouldnt be listening to their intimate conversations-thats some great writing and acting
LOL......true Izza.......it was such an private convo......makes the scene so great......TOdd and Blair being friends were really good........It made sense they found each other at the darkest point.
@bjujubee It's awesome that you loaded these but it is sad to see what they have done to this character. RH played him with so much menance and pain early on, even here. I don't blame him for wanting to stay true to the character but soap opera writers aren't always the best ones. But I am a GH fan as wel and hate what Guza did to the history there too. The early 2001/2002 Todd was camp and he did it great but not the same. I started watching again for no other reason but RH. Charisma.
It's times like these, that I was so glad Rebecca was out of the picture-she was too naive for Todd and Blair was needed to take him now to the next level
Blair took him to the next level........but she was "using" him from the start!!!!!!! She only went to him because Cord was being Cord!!!!! Todd and Blair were fun though......these two misfits together........I just wish that would have kept Blair more "real" with Todd.......but then that wouldn't be Blair. Ironic thing is, she was all about using Todd when she found out about the money, but when she really did fall for him......he pushed her away.....TNB was crazy!!!!!! LOL
I think we actually saw the change when Todd "died" in Ireland. The scene when Todd returns and Blair sees him for the first time......that is when I KNEW Blair loved Todd for the first time.........ironically, that is when Todd blew her off for the first time!!!!!!!!
This is when TnB really start developing their relationship and deepen their characters because this is where Todd really falls for a real woman and is so unsure of himself and where she is able to get to him like no other.

On a shallow note, WOW RH had gorgeous hair. He was like a walking shampoo ad.
