I think you are being a bit harsh on this couple.

If they are not laughing because the joke left a bit of a question mark/the joke is left open ended in terms of what he was implying, then I think thats fair enough.

For example, its likely the crowd don't really know him. Is he saying that anti-semitism is right because the jews killed jesus? He never addresses that after making this open ended joke,

whereas as fans we know he is a lovely guy who would be far from anti semetic.
