some cool riffs going on, wonder what it would have been like with Pepper, but it still sounds like CoC funnily enough..... Bass players delight, jamming along to this.....
I seen Mikes other band on tour with Clutch and some kid comes up and asks him..what about this guy from COC..and Mike kinda laughed and said thats me. Totally nice guy..and this rules..Pepper can stay with Down(who are good)..if this is the result..
this new stuff is awesome...COC is back for sure...add some florida dates to the tour....fuck the haters....i miss pepper but they still rock without him....\m/
was never a big COC fan, the stuff after deliverance seemed steril and polished and I never liked Pepper's vocals. This sounds more organic and different
@stbreal It depends on when you got into COC I guess. The first COC album I ever got was Eye for an Eye, so to me, that was COC. They have had I think five singers, and made classic albums with each of them, so what COC should sound like is really subjective. But Pepper will be back, so no worries.
@stbreal Blind is a great album.. but aside from one song, Karl Agell was the singer on that one. Me personally,, I liked their earlier hardcore/thrash stuff. All of it sounds like COC to me though.
@Funerism i know who sang on that album and i liked it hence it was what turned me on to coc but when pepper started singing permanently it was the best to me. i am also a big hardcore fan but when it comes to coc i just like that sound better plus vote with a bullet was my favorite song on the blind album so it makes sense
@stbreal I get it.. you like Pepper. I'm just pointing out, in regards to yr original comment, COC's sound is not exclusive to Pepper. They sounded like COC before him...and after. So proves Blind.
There's some controversy to doing the three-piece. People are like, "Oh my God, no Pepper!" People haven't even heard it and complain. I'm like, "Complain on, you'll see!" There's a good story behind this version, and there would be a good story behind doing the four-piece again. --- Mike Dean -
I'm not hating on it... but i just don't like it. and I know I know.. Pepper wasn't the singer until deliverance, but Corrosion always sounded different to me in a great way.. their guitar tones where "dirtier" and always had this black sabbath'ish vibe to em but "messier". the BASIC riffs seem to still be there, but the tones, the "vibe" feels gone to me. They kind of just sound like all the other generic bands in this genre now. :(. hopefully the still CRUSH live.
@mistrbigg And they are in need of a singer i'm not impressed by the vocals at all. Pepper to me is C.O.C I know he wasn't there until "blind" but listen to the first 3 albums and then the ones with Pep totally different band. No matter what the Pepper haters on here are saying they know they were rocking out to deliverance and America's Volume Dealer and Wiseblood and on... Pep was the Metal force behind the band and it shows in this and how down sounds btw like the name ya like mrbig? PG=God
@Metalborn69 i agree. It's not BAD to me, it just doesnt sound "right" to me. it's like when your mom used to make spaghetti and it was SOOOO awesome, then you got married and your wife is a great chef so she makes you spaghetti. it's good eatable spaghetti, but it just ISN'T mom's hehe. I've had a chance to listen to the whole album, and again.. just me, but this is borderline spaghettio's. i've seen them live with Pepper and Bower (BOWER POWER!)...KILLER live.
Why the fuck do you Pepper/Pantera fans needs to be commenting on this video? You know what you need to do. Go listen to Phil Anselmo's racist ramblings some more and shut the fuck up and go hang up your confederate flag. Get to used it. COC's a punk band, and none of you southern assholes would understand that.
@ToolOfTrade I'm a Pepper/Pantera fan and I think it sounds pretty fucking good. Are you black? You sound like Phil offended you or something. LOL Do some research on the confederate flag before you make assumptions dumbass!
@ToolOfTrade Hey you whiny fucker, Phil was on the first Down album that you loved. That album came out in1995, the same year he made his racist comments. That first Down album was a Sabbath/Skynyrd hybrid also. So you're pretty much contradicting yourself. COC was a punk band over 20 years ago. LOL Grow up and keep your stupid fucking comments to yourself!!!!

@salvaje1005 Hahaha the Panterrible/Down fans think COC without Pepper is like a divorce lol. I got news for them, COC was a BAND YEARS before Pepper ever joined. Ugh these redneck idiots have no idea what Crossover Thrash is period.
We got to admit it peppers brang somthing to the group. But with or without I believe this will be as good. You know its just diferent. Ok maybe ill miss pepper a tiny bit( it will be nice if he was singing with down( imagine down with kirk and pepper singing)) That lbe probaly not a good idea since they got phil(still curious about such mix XD). Cant wait the new CoC!
I've liked C.O.C. in ALL their forms. Nice to see the original 3 back together. I agree w/ tarakeys0069 Pepper was a great addition but they never NEEDED him. Pep's doing just fine w/ Down and C.O.C. sound as good as ever!!!
@paintedpirate You do realize the first albums without Pepper were hardcore punk, that might be your thing but I like Metal, the first album Pepper was on was the first metal album it was "Blind", Pep got to sing a song or two but Karl was the singer at the time, next album was deliverance, first album where Pep carried all the vocal responsibility and the first in a string of the best Metal albums. Yes i like what i hear in this song but it ain't Corrosion to me without Pepper
@Metalborn69 You mean you like awful metal like Panterrible and Lamb of Gay right??? Sorry but this shit is a thousand times better than anything they did Pepper.
@ToolOfTrade No i actually despise lamb of god and Pantera hasn't done anything right since Cowboys from hell everything after that album sucked, my type of metal is stuff like Megadeth and COC and Clutch and Dio, I like real metal not the garbage you listed but this is not better than anything they did with Pep. You listen to Clean my wounds, or 13 angels and tell that this is better then you're a liar. I don't hate this song i clearly stated that its just that to me, not as good without Pep
@ToolOfTrade musically, this sounds pretty much like any of the albums with pepper. Vocals here are somewhat in the same vien as Pepper too. So I dont see whats the big idea.
C'mon, I like these new/old vocals way better than Pepper's. the guy wanted so bad to sound 'legit-southern' that sometimes he ended up as a joke. don't get me wrong, i've followed this band all the way through, upon discovering way back in '85. i've alwyas loved their classic rock vibes-and their punk souls. 'Deliverance' is a an all-time fave, but i just feel there's some much energy coming out of my speakers right now. kinda like a mix of black flag, pentagram and thin lizzy. bye Pepper!
@cangong Thats very true. Pepper tried his hardest to be like a mix of Skynyrd and Phil Lynnott. Not to mention that whole "Down/Southern" Honky tonk bullshit was annoying as hell. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Delivance, and the first Down record. But good god that whole tough guy southern man image is so played out. It helped influence garbage like Lamb Of God.
This shit is real. Raw to the core how it's supposed to be. The more it sounds like it was recorded in some dirtbag's garage with cheap equipment the better imo.
I really like it. I defiantly think its a good mix of Old and new, And even though pepper isnt with them i think as a Three piece they really show their talents!
Sounds sweet....yeah a lil' Pepper would be nice, but I'm diggin' this bigtime !!!!!!! Bring it !!!!! I just kicked the crap outta my cat accidentally whilst jammin' this !!!!! Hell yeah !!!!!!!!
Being a pure Animosity + EFAE fan, I reckon this is great (The Doom more so)... It still has the drone sludge and fast punk parts which just reminds me of Loss For Words/Tell Me/Animosity/College Town. Plus I think Mike singing again just gives us that old CoC feel, hopefully they will stay as a 3 piece for awhile...
cool stuff, i'm really glad they're carrying on but i definitely find myself missing pepper keenan's vox - he's got the weight and personality behind them that the music needs. imo.
Ok, I don't get this. I have this pic from R.I.P. Magazine (Blind era) and there are 5 C.O.C. dudes, then I hear today Pepper is out and another guy who'd left long ago is back (vocals, right?). Then I only see three guys in this vid. So who's the other 2?
@lostcauseforkl Woodrow, Mike and Reed. these three first made noise under the C.O.C. banner as far back as 83', Reed returned to camp a few years ago after being absent after the release of AVDealer's release.
@lostcauseforkl .......The Blind album era which you speak of did have Karl Agell (vox), and Phil Swisher (bass).....add that to Pepper, Reed Mullin (original, and "now" present drummer), and Woody and you get 5...........Mike Dean bowed out for Blind.......I myself am very anxious to hear, and see this new lineup in action......all hail C.O.C.!!!!!!!!!
This is the raw COC line-up that I grew up with! I honestly appreciate all that Pepper brought to the band during his tenure. That being said, I grew up in Raleigh, NC and it was the trio of Woody, Mike and Reed that had me hooked back in 86'/87'. I'm looking forward to hearing them tear it up this spring! Bring back the animosity!!!!!!!
This is great stuff but I sure hope they've got some early - COC elements ( hardcore, punk, etc. )
on the new lp. No offense to Pepper but I am glad to see COC getting back to their core roots and all but these 2 songs sound a lot like Reed & Mike's other band Righteous Fool.
This is Great Music. It kicks motherfuckin´ ass. I don´t miss Pepper at all. This is original COC and it´s awesome. I´m glad they´re finally back. Looking forward to see them live down here in Mexico City.
CoC is one of the greatest metal groups of all time. Thru all the decades, different styles, and lineup changes they are still making KILLER music, and that's what metal is all about. It's a true honor to still be listening to new songs by them. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY COC DAMMIT!
well now, its been too fucking long,..... ive Jammed corrosion back in the 80ies, and they move me, they are a powerhouse of heavy riffs, great liryc lines and flat out the kings of metal. as i type this commentary, i jam for the first time their newest released teaser songs......im with it, not the same,no. however i see no shame ,it rocks dont wait get on the next one as soon as you tour, put pittsburgh pa. on your list
And within the first couple of seconds, my faith was restored in this album. I think You'll all probably know what I mean. I then at just after a minute, I lost that faith again. And 30 seconds after that it was restored again. I still don't know what to think, all I know I will love some bits of this album, and not others.
this is the best lineup sounds like sabbath ,

CoC is one of the greatest metal groups of all time. Thru all the decades, different styles, and lineup changes they are still making KILLER music, and that's what metal is all about. It's a true honor to still be listening to new songs by them. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY COC DAMMIT!

And within the first couple of seconds, my faith was restored in this album. I think You'll all probably know what I mean. I then at just after a minute, I lost that faith again. And 30 seconds after that it was restored again. I still don't know what to think, all I know I will love some bits of this album, and not others.
