Thank you, "War Raven". This song is really good. I'm a musician my self, and like I've always been looking for tribal music, well.. I personally believe most tribes are the surviving bands of men from a past civilisation, perhaps more advanced than we are now. I'm no rasta, but I can understand them calling the commercial world, "Babylon". And I think, as human beings, we are blinded by the "lights" of Babylon... too egotistical to look back, and see. Too blind to learn.
Its really sad that stupid music gets more hits, music like this & japanese shakuhachi flute music you hear with your heart because ears are known to hear what is not there, Lady Gaga cant even get close enough to sounding like this. I will take music anyday that touches my soul.
This is a very beautiful song. I am listening to this today with a heavy heart. Just got word that my cousin was killed this morning. He will be missed by so many who loved him very much. My only comfort is knowing that he is now with his mom. Rest in peace cousin <3
I will dedicated this song my Great Nana and Tata ,i hope see u when our creator takes me home:) I miss u so much i wish were here with me . God bless you .
I like your composition, it reminds me of some traditional native music that I've heard. It sounds pentatonic, so I guess it can be played on a flute without finger-holes, or what? We have flutes and horns of that kind in my country as well.
Authentic Native North American music is very hard to come by, unfortunately, at least where I live. And you have to search very hard in Youtube, too, to find something authentic.
the saddest part of history is that we do forget and the white people would do it all over again because they have no feelings and live for their own greed only.... the now americans say we are so great but we have not risen above the scum we came from
@yasharahla100 Expressions of racial hatred accomplish nothing good. It is only through mutual respect that the world will become a better place. Expressing hate toward other races doesn't undo the past -- nothing can -- and it doesn't make things better in the present or the future. Only mutual respect and understanding can accomplish that.
@sunquaver I see history must repeat itself again for some people,Did this government, military, politician, military industrial intelligence complex, president, medias(nbc, cbs, abc, cnn) and all the ruling elite oligarchy.Did they express any mutual respect and understanding? For eight years of deliberate lies and war against the people in Iraq and afghanistan.
@sunquaver the hatred is not towards people but the acts people perpetrate and all in the name of God. I am mostly white and it's hard to understand how any one could condone such acts on any people. In your last post on this page you mention that we are doing it all over again with the lies and crimes we have done on the natives here. Sometimes hate is the only way to get heard above all the lies.
@yasharahla100 Do you talk about every white man?Well where im from i bet we are much closer to nature and understanding then indians today in america.I live in True native white mans land and my bloodline have allways been here.My viking forefathers and leif erikson had a name for you indians an insult.SKRÆLINGS. It means..small weak skinny ones in shitty english language. Many white men lost their ways in other nations. We are one with nature here unlike the rest of white nations
I send my best regards to the Native Americans. I am disheartened and saddened that such an amazing people had to suffer so greatly to make a place as off as America is. You can always find a friend in a Gael of Scotland or Ireland. Peace be unto all peoples great and small.
Im a black Jamaican who thought the US was awesome. im 15 and in US history, when I learned what was done to the natives, tht opinion faded. i guess its more of the history of how the US came to be i should say rather. im sorry the way things turned out. you really didnt deserve what happened to you. ive been inspired recently to learn the Native American Flute. any tips? trying to get my parents to agree to get me one. Thank you and your ancestors.
I'm a white girl whos relatives stem back to the first European settlers...
I am so eternally regretful of what my ancestors did to yours... and I cannot express the love I have for the Native American culture. I stayed on a Lakota Reservation in South Dakota, and participated in a Sweat Ceremony... I have never felt so whole and complete, and I discovered things about life, and about myself that I never knew were part of me before. Thank you.
@amgx9 Thank you for sharing these thoughts. While we must put history behind us and move forward in a spirit of love and understanding, we must never forget. (WAR RAVEN)
I pray n hope that my generation wakes up one day n realize that we're born in the most beautiful and spiritual country in the world, god bless every indian who ever fought for our country, im so honored to being apart of you!!
@alastar12 Thank you. I read an article this morning about the last Navajo Code Talker. It is just another reminder of what Indians have done for this country, despite an early history of the country not always doing right be them. Bless them all. (WAR RAVEN)
@sunquaver The Choctaw were the original code talkers in WWI (the Cherokee, Comanche, Meskwaki, Basque, and Navajo Code Talkers came in WWII). It's amazing, humbling, moving, and yet, sad how their modesty kept them from being recognized for their work. It wasn't until the past few decades that they were finally acknowledged, I believe. I'm not Native, but I am in fact Indian. If you are Native American, can you tell me if it bothers you in the least to be called Indian? I am just curious...
@SajidaAsha Thanks for your comments. My "Native" ancestory goes back several generations, so only a small amount of that blood flows in my veins. However, I know quite a few aboriginal Americans and most of them prefer the term "Indian" or "American Indian" to Native American. But, I don't have any data on the opinions of the "Native" population as a whole. To me personally, either term is appropriate.
@sunquaver That is very interesting. I would have assumed that being called by a different race would not feel appropriate. If I were Native, I don't think I'd mind being called Native American or Indian either, but I have Dominican and Cuban friends that don't like being called black. Not because of racism, but just because they aren't "African-American," though they clearly carry some African blood in their veins.
