  • I GOT HIIIIIGGGH!

  • One of the best songs ever written.......love the drum roll.

  • still one of my all time favorite songs!

    ~Bridget

  • dont get music like this anymore, music for the ages, like it or not, those were the best days for music

  • One of the first examples of a studio recording technique called "phasing" used in psychedelic music. Hendrix picked-up on it and developed it on his albums. It's that 'wooshing' of the sound into drawn-out sweeps.

  • @Exiles800 Hendrix was indeed a fan of Steve Marriott even before he (Jimi) hit it big himself. Their girlfriends at the time shared a flat with each other in London.

  • @gropingwithastoker Jimi Hendrix, in 1959, heard a pop tune, "The Big Hurt" by Miss Toni Fisher and was so blown away by the special effects which qualified the Miss Toni Fisher song as one of the first psychedelic records (before the name was even coined) that Hendrix decided to expand on the sound further and... the rest is history...

  • It's all too beautiful :)

  • had some mushies back in the 80's, still farkin tripping eh!

  • This is beyond excellent. Also, this is an example of why music was so much better back then. It had a positive message for young people. : )

  • In Scotland, We associate this song with cattle in a field bothered with fleas!!!

  • @jonkheere1

    Haha, only in Scotland :D

  • This song was at the start of severance :)

  • when i was a kid back in the 60's, many songs inspired us to ditch and get high. although i also doubt someone quoted these lyrics to a principal after getting caught, getting high was the call of the day for sure!! thanks for posting!

  • "hey dude i just came back from itchycoo park..."

"o cool, what did you do there man?"

    "I GOT HIIIIIIGH!!!!"

  • Steve Marriot, you are a legend R.I.P. A true icon of the sixties, good times ,great music, simple life, and no intrusive technology that turns people into trolls.

  • Thank God for the internet. I loved the hell out of this song, but the tape just went to hell.

  • I swear I hear Rod Stewart in here, but this was before he came around, right?

  • @estyle40 Yeah, he was only with the Faces, the second incarnation of the band.

  • @MarqueeMoon95 Cool, thanx for the info!

  • pufff!

  • song has such a fun, upbeat vibe to it. nothing else similar. like it a lot. "we'll go, to hear, the words of fools"

  • @pikiwiki You could miss off school, won't that be cool? why go to learn the words of fools ? Ian Mclagan didn't like this song and thought it was anti education!

  • From Severance

  • what can you say?... It's all too beautiful...

awesome Stevie...SFat their best are better than any other sixties band I can think of...fantastic

  • @johnny2o2o fuck off

  • this is one of the finest examples of the beauty of 60s music.

  • Awesome song !!! I love the waves it makes it trippy ! Ever pulled a Spiral out of your forehead ? lol.

  • @OrbitalCoaster420 Once I did, actually... It was a corkscrew... I don't know how the hell it got there, but i'm glad i didn't turn it the wrong way!

  • Great song!

  • Feeding ducks with a bun. Beautiful, man, beautiful.

  • @Lonette hehe

  • One of many travesties committed by our local rock station (KYNO-AM) was that this was the only SF song ever to get airplay there.

  • Isn't that rotton Rod Stewart??

  • No it's Steve Marriott on voc/guitar.

  • Rod was a member of The Faces, not the Small Faces...

  • I couldn't get enough of this song when it came out, and I still love it! I remember turning up the radio one day when this came on. My mom was in the kitchen making dinner, and I turned up the radio so that she would realize that I was one of those "hippie" kids now. (I had just turned 15).

  • like steve's voice in this song

  • Just love your video

  • one time I skipped school and went to a park and got high and my principal asked me where I was what I did and how If I felt bad about it and I replied with the lyrics

  • @TheBeesKneesSir I doubt that really happened, but it's still a heart warming stoy.

Krsna =all attractive, too beautiful. Now I'm devoted to touching the sky. canada

  • they just don't make music like this anymore man.....

  • I agree and im 27, groups just dont have the flair that they once had to bring out good music, now it is just either distorted nonsense or electronic nigtclub beat music.

  • this is the first song that comes into my mind everytime im rolling a joint or just think about drugs this song plays constantly in the back ground along with radiohead =]
