  • as you can all see in the back ground, There is Nothing Wrong with the Bridge! If its not broken why fix it? Rebuilding this bridge will create jobs temporarily. If they really want to do something they should just paint it.

  • @udipugar The bridge is structurally deficient, which means, that it might fall down. Bridges falling down = Bad. Then the people who use the bridge cannot get to work, cannot pay taxes, and the economy shrinks. Infrastructure = trade = profit = jobs = economic growth. I cannot make it simpler.

  • @boyce0105 Thanks for the info... In that case, with politics aside, a new bridge is a necessity and should be supported 1st before we give aid to other countries. Just today John Boehner punked Obama for a trillion dollars to aid other countries for disaster relief. That is BS! & thats coming from a Republican

  • These are not overnight projects. As demand picks up from people spending their money, the GDP grows, then business will want to invest. They have to because they have to make money. Jobs should start to come back in other sectors. Early interest in investment will probably be in the areas that are the lowest cost to invest. For the good of all US workers, buy products made in the US if you want to do your part.

  • I still keep my Economics textbook from America. According to the textbook, bridges and highways are state level. Obama thinks, he can fix economy by giving money to companies. It does not work that way. How come he did not learn from his mistakes? Is he Forrest Gump or Bubba?

  • @pgthinker007 So...I take it you skipped over the part of the textbook that covers the "Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways." This is spelled "F-E-D-E-R-A-L."

  • @n0710s

Well... then why Americans have pay for state & township taxes?

  • well, it's election time. why did it take almost 4 yrs to get to jobs, folks is broke out here. if he would've been this way for at least the first 2yrs, boehner wouldn't have ever been speaker of the house.

  • sitcom audience

  • Soooo, what happens when all the bridges are rebuilt? All those jobs go away, and people are unemployed, again. What then? More government spending for more go nowhere jobs? We need careers, not jobs, you fart blossom

  • @buisyman Infrastructure spurs growth, this is non-partisan indisputable fact. Historically every major infrastructure undertaking has sparked massive growth. Eisenhower built the interstate system in the 50's and there was massive growth despite a crushing 94% top income tax bracket. The late 1800's had the transcontinental railroad, and shortly thereafter, we became a top 3 world industrial power.

Let me ask you this, when that bridge falls down, how do the people get to work? Ferry? swim?

  • @boyce0105 So, tell me. what was the economic health during those times? it might have worked during good times, but failed miserably during FDR's presidency (you seem to have forgotten all about FDR's infraxtructure spending, that did more damage to a damaged economy) save the infrastructure projects for when the economy is good and the country doesn't have to borrow to do it. Besides, the states are already doing infrastructure work, just like they do every year.

  • "pass his jobs bill"

    You mean raise taxes?

Why not take the money from all of the politician's salaries......?

Get the fuck out of office obama....

  • @omgwtfbbq6666 you must make over 250k, no one else has a problem with raising taxes.

  • @omgwtfbbq6666 you must make over 250k, no one else has a problem with raising taxes.

  • @oneofonex1 My boss makes over $250k. If his taxes go up, my pay, and the prospect for raises, goes down. Don't you know simple economics?

  • @buisyman if taxes go up, so will your bosses pay mean while your pay will stay the same or you'll get fired and the person who takes your job is younger with little to no experience and you probably trained them. I think i know how the american economy works.
