  • I like this version, at first I didn't. I think the original is good but from the live versions I like too. I don't think he can recreate the original as his voice has changed. It has a nice Counting Crows tone to it.

  • This song was perfect for the end credits of Kids. Great performance.

  • Wow killer losers don't have a clue this is a great performance of this song I love the two different mics Lou Barlow is dope no wonder he's $uper rich now not to mention he's getting his dinosaur bass spot back right on jay mascis and Lou you two murph but weres Eric gaffney that guys dope too (@)(@)

  • Agreed. This is not a good version.

Also I see this song listed many different ways but it's a Sebadoh song not a Folk Implosion song. It was originally released on the album Sebadoh 3, fours years before the Kid's Soundtrack came out.

  • Shitty performance. What the fuck? Who just shits on their own song like that?

  • oh totally agree with you man i would of been pissed to be there and to hear that .

  • this is a good version of the song, but i don't think it's quite as amazing as the original.

  • is this the singer of this song? I have a CD of movie and i could not recognize this voice..by the way is nice also

  • yeah that's him..Lou Barlow of Sebadoh, dinosaur jr.,Folk Implosion....the version on the Kids soundtrack was recorded at least 15 years ago...

  • weed exhalation on 2;10!

  • oh i...didnt notice that

  • Absolutely stunning song...I like this because I can actually figure out the chords. In the original the guitar is slightly out of tune (likely he just grabbed one of his old ones when recording it) but it's just BARELY out and it makes figuring out the chords a real bother. This one is actually pretty clear :) wicked...

  • what are the chords? can you tell us plz?

  • Sent a note, too few characters here...

  • personally, i think the album version is way better. the original is beautiful in its message as well as its rough musical textures.

to be frank, he kinda over-sings this one

  • Agreed, but I think this live version has its own unique qualities. It can all be summed up by the one extra line he adds at the end: What is this that has us hypnotized?

  • sounds like he's so touched by the audiences response that he's on the verge of tears... but it comes out as laughter. who knows

  • Whenever I hear Lou play this live, I cry. I love this song!

  • this is so good

  • i never thought id find this live, epic
