Sorry guys, back again. Last night I went on a search to find this gem; I thought of it while I was watching the PBS special on the British singers from the 60's.

Director Franco Zefferelli (The Champ, Romeo & Juliet) was so moved by this song that he insisted that this song should be the theme song and soundtrack after the movie had already been released. In subsequent reruns, this song was promoted in its entirety in the 2-3 minute trailer. That's when I heard the song for the very first time. The trailer was extremely moving and Zefferelli was right on when he picked this piece as The Champ's theme song!!
