Man! 3 dislike's, what his doing here is total genius, if you cant dig this, then just stick with back beat on 2 & 4 then bass drum 1 & 3, then watch other video which does not tackle complicated topic...
both are metric modulations because of they are meter and tempo changes, the 3/4 to 6/8 modulates from dotted quarter note = quarter note whereas the 4/4 to 6/8 is just quarter note = dotted quarter note (shifting from the duplet to triplet feel)
Seriously this guy is fucking amazing, great feel, great timing and great creativiity, especially with your dynamics. Any chance your going to post a new lesson or video ?? I've watched all your stuff to many times to count and I'm still blown away ! Take it easy man
Having heard it from Steve Smith I'd been "mush" sticking the "Blushda" for years. Thanks to Steve from HoD, I finally captured the correct sticking - brilliant! His lessons are great - I suggest a double DVD really soon. Keep up the great work.
THANKS STEVE!! I love your stuff. I picked up your DVD recently and this is a perfect compliment to the 4/4 to 6/8 concept you discussed. PLEASE keep the lessons coming. Or hell, just make another DVD!!!
Thanks Steve!

There are a lot of things I would like to say about this, but I think the most succinct is what he said last - " This is not a toy ".
