  • OK, I found out two days later that it was the earphone speaker I trashed. The speaker is attached by a flat copper cable to the back of the lens.

If you are attempting this replacement, try heating the glass slightly with a hair dryer to soften the glue holding the lens in place, then use the credit card to lift the lens with great care!

  • Changed the front lens on my V9 yesterday but I found there was an electrical connection under it leading to a copper sheet stuck to the lens. The copper sheet is stuck much harder to the lens than the phone base making it difficult to very remove. I am not sure what this part does - perhaps it shows characters on the screen? I removed it along with the lens not knowing it was there and broke the lead. Phone still works OK, but just a warning to you if you are about to change your glass..

  • hey i have that same broken glass too . i made a hole for the camera. that came out really good man . wish me luck.

  • Thanks, I tried this and thought I was breaking it so I left it - I will try it again now I see it works. Ebay has the glass for sale

  • i would have left the plastic on the front of it lol then it would be like having a new phone again

  • Excellent video. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. The glue holding the lens down is very tough to cut through when the lens is shattered or pin-holed. When you pull up with the card, a tiny piece of glass can fly off.

  • Thanx man... Mine got wet I couldnt dry it out very well so i just took it off and dried myself! thanx a bunch!

  • Using a credit card was smart!! I didn't even think of that - I used a craft knife the last time I swapped out my cover, but scuffed some of the phone in the process. I'll use your trick this time around...

  • after watching this video i went on ebay and bought a front glass for only about $6.

    thanks for this vid!

  • i ha dknow idea

thanks alot you saved me a new phone

how much dose the new face cost?

  • thanks for posting

  • Wats this song?

  • Damien Marley & Naz - Road To Zion

  • Well it was until UMG pulled this video off YouTube temporarily because I used Damien Marleys song as background music! So now you get to listen to the Plain White-T's because they obviously don't need the extra cash or recognition for using their music and are on the "approved" audio list YouTube gave me to pick from ;)

  • Hey there Delilah, by The Plain White Tees

  • hey there delilah by teh plain white T's

  • Oooo thanks for the video , I need a new front glass thing coz I dropped it a while ago and its all cracked down the middle =)

  • Is it mostly the same with a K1m?

I suppose you just have to be careful around the buttons right?

  • it looks cool with out the front glass lol-Sourdoughress

  • I just wanted to thank you for posting this!! After I dropped my phone the front plate was the only part with damage and I certainly didn't want to buy a new phone! It was as simple to replace as it was shown in the video. The only issue I had was the glue after I removed the old plate. The phone still works fine and looks great!

  • the front screen is just black. what should i do?

  • awsum dude i think im gonna use this method cuz mines crackked.but i reallllllly hope it does not screw up my phone..

  • Hi thanks for the video, brillaint method, I did this for my sister today as I bought a glass front off ebay also. I found putting a small amount of sticky-back-plastic on the glass before removing it, stopped it from falling apart and from flying pieces of glass occuring.

  • Yea the tape is a great idea!

  • OMG!!!! I've replaced my phone twice because of this!!!!!! I swore that if it broke again I was getting a different phone. THANKS FOR POSTING....Saves me from making a claim!!!

  • omg thanks you so much but where did you get the glass from

  • I bought the glass on eBay for like $9 or something. Matrix is right on with his comment about the glass splintering if you are not careful. Might want to wear glasses just in case!

  • coool..going to doo that when mine breaks sometime...someone i know broke hers and paid like 90 bucks to fix it :S

  • would this work on the v6 razr aswell theres glass you buy on ebay but im not 100% shore it comes off the same way because half the planet is useless and wont make 1 of v6 razr:< nice vid but you helped alot of us razr fans

  • I haven't worked on a V6 personally, but I'd bet that it's just stuck on with adhesive like the V3 and Krazr.

  • Worked Great. THank you!! WARNING: Little pieces of glass/metal might fly out and hit you in the eye. Use precautions. It hurts.

  • wow

    i need one of them

can you send me one by post?

  • I bought the glass on eBay. Just search for "krazr glass" and you'll find it.
