  • His uniform is why no one takes Wing chun seriously. Makes me cringe that I defend this art so much.

  • i have met this man , many wing chun sifu have sought his guidance, dont let this demo fool you, master thomas is untouchable!

  • good video. power only when needed.

  • I agree with dlvt79! Theyre poon-sao works only by consence. (Its a demo, I know) That crossing of the hands indicates a constant hold, which could lead to many broken fingers... The stance is totally non-wingchun (like most `stiles´) and the footwork is missing as well. Theyre heads are to near as well.

  • Too relaxed and why cross the hands?Dangerous against someone more experient..

  • good chi sau.who.s your Sifu.

  • good chi sau

  • Good demo, bro! Just wondering - who's your sifu?

  • @t51wws self taught obviously.

  • @ph33ric Zing!

  • nice one brother

  • There is a sky above a sky and a talent above a talent. Yip said every day he could do it better than he did the day before right into his old age. That is the point of Kung Fu. It moves through time and age with you.

  • Very good response Kissoon85... your observation is on point regarding the shameful comments made by kungfucritic and DaTruthBeTold. I would be intrigued to find out who this slanderous person and ex-student of Anton's is.... who are you?

The Truth is NOT being told.

  • Kisson sounds like a sensible, level headed guy. Hmm as for you, what's ur name? So u r out to attack anyone who voices valid comments about Anton's Chi Sau. Instead of whinning, why dont you address my points ? 1) why does his hands cross over centre ? 2) why does he extend his hands so far out ? 3) Why does he use so much lateral flicking ? where is his forward press ? Fact is he can only get away with these attacks due due to his student incessive flapping of his hands past his own centre.

  • You CANNOT judge someone's Chi Sau from a Youtube video! Simple as that! You will know from practising Chi-sau that everyone you practise with is different. If you've practised with people of a high level i.e are able to make Chi-sau work for them, then you'll have found they all have a different energy/ body shape etc..we simply have to deal with what is given- either your Wing Chun works or it does not-no inbetween- as Anton used to say-"Enough talk, come and demonstrate"-if it works it works.

  • ..... or how the energy between the two is. I have practised Chi-sau with Anton very recently when i went to see him after being away for years. It was an instant reminder of how cultivated his energy is, his structure and elbow power is very firm but not in anyway rigid. He manages to say very soft and receptive to my impulses and yet it feels as though his arms are getting heavier and heavier, (even when we are not rolling) due to his seeking forward energy and structure. My point is.....

  • ...However, everything that Anton started me off with years ago has been incredibly useful and in no way contradictory to efficient wing chun. With regards to comments by the expert 'Kungfucritic', you've gotta be jokin right? I take it by your comments that you feel as if you are somewhat of an authority on Wing Chun, which i in no way doubt, however, u shud therefore know that unless you were actually doing Chi sao with him then it is impossible to know how good his structure is...

  • I too have seen footage and photo's of Anton training with both Ip Ching and Ip Chun, as far as your inside knowledge about how Ip Ching feels about Anton goes, i obviously cannot comment, if you have gone and spoken with Ip ching and he has told you this then fair enough.

After training with Anton, I have trained with various senior practishioners from the WT lineage (Leung Ting's) school, and also students of Wong Shun Leung, this has helped me massively with my progression in Wing Chun...

  • In response to 'Datruthlbetold', you are of course more than entitled to your opinion. I am one of those people who have paid good money to learn from this man but please don't feel sorry for me, i have gained invaluable knowledge and understanding of Wing Chun as a result of his very passionate and diligent teachings. Anton eats breathes and sleeps Wing Chun, if there are areas of weakness in his applications then you can trust that he works night and day to perfect these.

  • All I have to say is I'm sticking with traditional wing chun. Self expression is the name of the gameand I only learn from my sifu.

  • Excelente técnica , no la conocia,

  • No Structure, no centre line focus, hands crosses centreline and are hyperextended. Apart from reflex speed and ok flow, this vid represent 90% what not to do in Chi Sau. Worse representation of Chi Sau i have ever witnessed from an instructor.

  • Yes There is definitely a weakness on the fook sau to tan sau change, plus his hands cross on every roll. Awful Chi Sau. But what can you expect from a teacher that lies to his students, by claiming to be a Ip Chun & Ip Ching Student, & has never been either.

  • i got it on tape when he went to china. would you like a copy ?

  • What does this tape show? Does it show Ip Chun's dislike of Anton's false claims? Or does it show Ip Ching telling another English Sifu (who shall remain nameless) to tell Anton to keep his name out of his mouth? Probably not. Anyway I'm not here to argue, I just feel sorry people paying good money to this con man (just like I did). But don't take my word for it (even though I just got back from Hong Kong), speak to Sifu's over here, for example Samuel Kwok, i'm sure he will tell you the truth.

  • By the way Master Samuel kwok is not the English Sifu I mentioned earlier.

  • Post the tape on here, I'd like to see a copy.

  • very well presented and very nice inner line Manipulation

  • Actually to be correct Chi Sau is Not unique to Ving Tsun as there are older styles of kung fu that employ Chi Sau.

  • Comment removed

  • Not at all. Ving Tsun/ Wing Chun are the same. Simply a different transliterations from the Chinese. The VTAA (Ving Tsun Athletic Association) which is the head body of all schools (that I know of) in Hong Kong makes no distinction. What you are referring to is the trademark Ving Tsun of Leung Ting's organisation that calls itself 'evolved' (but is actually no more 'evolved' than any other form of WC, it is just marketed this way).

  • FARDA I LUV HEIR

  • very nice presentation very humble and great technique very quick crisp movements but the red text always took my attention off when u were about to show the technique that u were explaining xD haha but excellent demestration thankyou for sharing

  • I really enjoyed this video! The explanations were so clear and concise

  • is that your son?

  • lmao~ahaha,maybe

  • nice presentation

  • I really enjoy the way you present your understanding of wing chun - Humble, yet very confident. Cheers.
