  • plug the hole up if a house sparrow moves in your blue bird house

  • @ponbass2 These are old videos...this box and place is long gone. There are newer box videos and I actually took care of some TRES babies. I get Bluebirds and TRES (Tree Swallows). I have an informational video up too. Kill and/or trapping HOSP is the only way you get rid of them.

  • lol,your description is funny

  • @Jefflam1 lol, thnks..I think ;)

  • This is the problem with house sparrows and it seems that there are a lot of HOSP misunderstanding on youtube but these birds will take over your yard and neighborhood very fast and before long your song birds will be gone with nothing but the annoying tweet of a house sparrow.

  • Yeah I know. Thnks. Imported from Europe in the 1800's. This is from last yr, This yr I dvised a system and had a bb gun, it worked for a while, so ten I took the TRES babies myself. And started to raise them. Been to experts in the field.

  • @freddyfast9 this is exactly what happened in my neighborhood. i havent seen any other birds but crows and starling and the occasional blue jay. since i have been killing a few of these per day with pellet gun I haven seen more house finches and heard some other song birds. I feel like im helping out

  • @crownvic1776 All right! It is legal in most states to kill the HOSP, kill em all! ;)

  • @Tstormer I killed five male sparrows yesterday. check my vids!

  • @freddyfast9 no doubt

  • Same thing happened to me. I found a dead bird in there last Fall, I think the House Sparrow that's in there now killed it. I am hoping to catch him and the female soon and get rid of them.

  • Kill it. This yr I have more defenses and I can constantly watch the boxes. You can put up sparrow spookers, fishing line for trip wire, sparrow traps...in winter, put food out and kill the male.

  • Last week, I removed the nest, and the 3 House Sparrow eggs that were in there... they came back and rebuilt the nest, but I haven't seen them in the past couple of days, oddly.

If they return, any suggestions on how best to trap/kill them? I have a BB gun, but #1 I don't have a safe backstop from where I'd be shooting, and #2, the neighbor behind me is a bit neurotic and would probably call the state police, if she saw me doing it.

  • Try a slingshot of some sort. Alot quieter. I will be getting one soon.

HOSP will be persistent for sure. It is legal in most states to kill the pest HOSP.

I'll give you a website that is really good, with lots of info in a mesg, Youtube don't allow links in the comments, k.

And do the thing above as mentioned.
