  • nice soundtrack :)

  • Where can I find resin for casting my sculps?

  • @tolgaoztemur Go to 0.01

  • @brickintheyard

    what does 0.01 means?

  • @tolgaoztemur At 00.01 in the video timeline you will see the website and toll free phone number for our store.

  • @brickintheyard

I am from Turkey. I suppose cargo would cost too much. Let me check it thought.

  • What did you use to make the mold for the finish product? Did you use a live model to make the mold, .or did you make a mold from apiece of sculpture?

  • @Keyboardman88 The torso mold was taken off of a living model. We have another similar mold process on our channel. I believe it is a back mold made with Gel-10.

  • What kind of resin did you use for the cold cast bronze? And can you use the same kind of resin for both the cast and the mother mold?

  • @unklscrufy We recommend EZ Flo 60 or EZ Flo Clear for general casting or cold cast process. Both of those resins set a little too fast for making a mother mold. We use 15-6 or 15-12 for mother molds.

  • Creeeeeeepy soundtrack!

  • @galfurion ....in accordance with the prophecy.

  • @brickintheyard LOL! :-D I wish I could have easy access to your products here in Brazil! Over here everything is so hard to find and so expensive that is almost cheaper to graduate in chemistry and research for myself how to recriate your products. Keep up the good work! You guys are to blame for my interest in model sculpting, modeling and casting!

  • Is it possible to paint resin? I want to make something a pearly white, and didn't see a pigment or anything like that in your store.

  • @RaeLynnShikure Pearl white could be achieved by adding white PolyColor to EasyFlo Clear resin so that it maintains some translucency. Resin can be painted provided it is primed. I also use Bulldog adhesion promoter on some resin surfaces to get paint to stick. You can find it at most auto body supply stores.

  • I see you went straight for the boobies :)

  • Very nice, thanks for sharing!!

  • Im interested in the bronze thing you made, . What's bronze powder? should i just say "bronze powder pls" when buying from a hardware store? tnx

  • @drogzi This is a very fine bronze powder that is not available through hardware stores. We sell it as well as some other specialty shops.

  • i am wondering how the molds themselves are created. I am very interested in doing this on a small scale. I am assuming there is a master part that the mold is made with. How is the master part made? Also how is the mold created? I would like to see that.

  • @AcanLord Check out our channel page. We have several videos on basic mold making.

  • @brickintheyard Thanks for the help.

  • hi i want to have a try of this, i have seen some easyflo 6, some rtv silicone rubber mould and some release spray, i was just wondering what sort of temperature you should leave the resin to set in, i would be doing it in my shed so it would not be too warm or too cold. Any help and tips would be great :D thanks

  • @smiff198907 Best to cast at about 70-80F

  • what the thing that you pored the silcone rubber thing in to?

  • @masaya5656 What do you mean?

  • are there any other materials I could use instead of resin

  • Plaster, hydrocal, or hydrostone.

  • I was wondering could you paint a clear casting resin on something like paper mache and just let it cure in place to form a polyester shell around it for weatherproofing?

  • Yes!

  • What kind of resin are you using?

  • This is EZ Flo series resin. It is available on our webstore.

  • @brickintheyard if one was to try and make ball joint dolls out of that resin would you recommend something else

  • This resin has enough "give" it is good for parts that snap together.

  • i went to the store you got, there's so many difrent ones... which one is the best

allso do you ship to europe

  • check with mouldlife in the uk.

  • hehe you felt the finished product over XD lol great video though :D

  • do you have a video up of like a resin mask or something casted with resin thats NOT solid? and do you have something up of a mask casted with PT flex 70?

oh and haha i just wanted to put in that that was an awsome elephant lol

  • No videos like that yet. I'll see what we can come up with.

  • Wow!! Amazing!

Though perhaps could you make the music a little softer? I had a little trouble hearing your voice.

  • This one doesn't have a voice over.

  • hi can you make gears (rc toy parts) from this. does it dry as a hard substance or easy breakable. Thankyou

  • EZ Flo cures to a tough, impact resistant resin. We have another video where we do just that: make resin gear from a silicone mold. I believe it is "mold making: basic block silicone mold".

  • The variation in these chemicals is endless... but you can get very hard and high wear resistant plastic suitable for gear prototypes.. carbon impregnated polyeurethanes

  • Your video was very helpful and inspiring. thanks for posting.

  • i dont suppose you have done a video on making a sphere mold and casting resin? i could really do with some help

  • Amazing stuff!!! Really amazing *_*

  • damn that's one hot body! great vids!

  • would you be able to make lego helmets using this? and where do you buy it?

  • Go to the link at the end of the video. All the supplies are on our webstore.

  • How long did the steel wool polishing take?

  • Just a few minutes. It polishes easily.

  • how about a rainy humid day?

    put off doing the casting/

how bad does CAST N CRAFT resin smell?do you have to work outdoors?

  • All the Cast-n-craft resin should be dumped into a pit and burned. There is a good reason we sell the resins that we do.

  • thanks, brick, that's much appreciated info. my wife's a trophy maker, trying to figure out the best way to take a real rose and encase it in a clear resin trophy 'column.' i think if i can impress her with that she'll let me pursue other mold-making delusions i have. :)

  • i almost forgot: when you add an equal part A to the mix, is that equal to part B *plus* the pigment, or just part B by itself? not sure if it matters, but if it does, that part wasn't clear to me.

  • The part A is just equal to the part B -pigment. The pigment is such a small ammount it rarely needs to be accounted for.

  • i read where polyester resin will not cure/harden on the back of the mold that's exposed to air, so they sell a spray to harden it. something like that. is that true?

once cured, can you add more resin, have the two parts stick and there not be a separation line/seem? dumb question, i guess, but i just have to ask. :)

  • Not sure about polyester resin doing that. Never seen that. This is Polyurethane resin that is formulated for mass casting.

  • Sir where I can Buy this product?Do you have any dealer here in the Philippines?

  • Not sure where you would get it over there :(

  • Comment removed

  • follow the link at the beginning or end of the video.

  • is any kind of resin paintable with acrylic paint?

  • Polyurethane resins should be primed with auto body primer 1st.

  • does resin feel similar to plastic?

  • Yes. Resin is just a name for a room temp. cure plastic.

  • so, whats the best way to romove air from a mold when casting resin or polyurethane rubber?

  • That all depends on the configuration of the part being molded.

  • so, you dont have any advice.

  • You asked a very broad question. If you have a particular item or mold configuration in mind I can better answer your question.

  • its a small mold from 1/16 scale car tire..the mold itself consist out of just one part..when i use it a lot of air get locked in suring the resin casting...i was hoping you got any tips to remove air from the mold..i tried tapping the pottom off the mold...

  • you can vibrate the shit out of it, with a powerful massager, or you can spread the resin with a Qtip everywhere before you pour it all in so it goes everywhere, or the best way is to get a vacum chamber and suck the air out for 10 minutes at very high vacum, or until it stops boiling

  • can you make a cast from a foam core shape? like a 2d shape cut from foam core

  • If you want to use foam core as a mold you will need to use a lot of paste wax to release the inside of the mold.

  • How hard is resin once completely dry? Does it have any pliability?

I'm looking to make a 6 inch circular piece that will be mounted on a belt. I need a casting material that would still allow me to bend over properly without breaking the cast or having the piece jab into my stomach.

    Any suggestions?

  • Thin sections will flex a bit but a thick section will feel very solid. EZ flo is designed to have high impact resistance, hence the flex. It measures a 65D.

  • awesome!

  • help

How do i remove plastic from resin?

i did some casting with resin and the things i was casting got stuck in the resin and i cant get them out. i used release agent but it did not work. there only half submerged

    what can i do?

  • Not sure I understand. Was your mold made of resin?

  • is this stuff strong? Is it like v-3040

  • It is a tough, impact resistant plastic if mixed properly. EasyFlo is easy to use and creates a strong end product. For REALLY strong cast parts use 1512 resin.

  • do you really need casting

  • ???

  • This is clever stuff. LOL the music scares me

  • It is supposed to scare you. Resin casting should be frightening if done correctly.

  • How would one make a silicone mold, or rather, is it even possible?

  • Not sure what you mean.

  • google "silicone resin casting" you should get a few shops that carry silicone molding material and they come in jars with directions.

they are more expensive then latex but if your deathly alergic to latex molds like I am then its worth it >.>

  • google "silicon mold" it should bring up shops that carry silicon putty for casting

  • See our silicone block mold video for instructions on silicone mold making. It shows a poured silicone mold as well as the math needed to estimate the volume.

  • what is the resin called that you are using ... I cannot seam to find and of the resin that changes colour (clear to white)... I am based in England and cannot find it anywhaere ...hope you can help

  • That is EasyFlo 60. I believe mould life carries it.

  • Anyone knows the resin(s) ingredients for hard and durable plastic?

  • EZ Flo 60 is a hard durable plastic.

  • Thanks for the reply information.

  • Anyone knows the resin(s) ingredients for hard and durable plastic?

  • For the bodycast at the end, can I ask what the pink coloured liner was - how it came about? This is separate to the actual plaster mold, right?

    Excellent video btw.

  • The mold was a liferite silicone mold with a plaster bandage shell.

  • thank you.. so it will hardened after a while?

  • Yes.

  • why is the resin soft? are they supposed to be hard or soft

  • Soft? it would only be soft if compared to diamonds. Most resins are a hard D45-D75.

  • the easy flo resin that cures white where can you get it,the only resin i can get is HOBBY TIME clear resin but its sticky after it has cured, i think the white resin is mutch beter and you can see when its dry so if you can tell where i can get some thanks.

  • Thanks very much!

    Top Post!

  • Is there any additive or inserts that can be added to a resin casting that'll make the resin a bit more pliable? So that it has just a little bit of give.

  • polycolor. It works in most resin systems.

  • What type of pigment you use?
