Gold Rusher dark ride at Kennywood

i sat next to blake 12 on this ride who likes rides but doesn't scream on them pippa and carrigan 14 twin sisters they scream and laugh at eachothers screams ariel and angel who are scared ariel 11 angel 9 ariel always wants to sit next to carrigan but carrigan wont because she wants to sit next to pippa but these are five out of seven of my kids and these are my kids that went on this ride the spider scared anriel and angel

i think this ride was a lot scarier than ghostwood estate... this ride actually made you jump.... ghostwood estates you don't even pay attention to anything except the targets..... Kennywood needs to put in more dark rides, theyre getting rid of them all....

gold rusher was basically a haunted ride-thru. it had no drops like a normal coaster or anything like that. just a car on a track that goes thru a little building with a bunch of scenery and stuff. but they took it down and are putting up a new dark ride thing called ghostwood estate.

yeahh they changed this to ghostwood estate.

i rode it yestersday.

basically its an indoor ride where you get in a car that fits 4 people; 2 in front to in back

then right in front of you you have a digital scoreboard and a "ghost blaster" aka a little gun that you use to hit these targets

when you hit the target it causes a "spirit"

aka one of the props or decorations to either move, pop out from behind something, spin, pretty much just doing anything that could spook you. its not really that much of a dark ride, there is light in it, but its still pretty dark. i just figured that I'd point that out.

It's a shame they are removing this ride, it looks fun and I never got a chance to get there to ride it yet, although I'm confused as to what is replacing it next year...

It was a pretty stupid ride to be honest. I worked that ride for a couple months and there was literally 5 scenes with very little animation in the props. Then the "waterfall" at the end was nothing special at all. The new ride being put in is going to have a LOT more detail, I've seen the plans etc. It's going to be a welcomed change... Some of the props from the Gold Rusher I believe are being sold on ebay. The real shame was them changing the 'Old Mill' into Garfield's nightmare
