I hate people who think that bass is just a mediocre instrument. It depends how bass is played. You can alright skilled with your fingers like victor wooten for instance, or have feeling in your bass playing. Putting feeling and emotion in bass playing makes you stand out from any other bass player out there. You don't have to be able to move your fingers really fast to put good feeling and emotion into a song.

@sadeau, if you want to learn the bassline exactly the way it was written, you could very well listen to it over & over until you get every absolute nuance of it right...it'd be a great exercise in ear training. This is a playalong with a live version, not the studio version anyway...& most people don't try to play songs as they're recorded when it's live (or on YouTube). Kind of keeps you from developing/adding your own personal touch to it.
