IMHO Android on house phone could be really useful. In my family we are 3 people and each of us has his own google account with emails and contacts that automatically sync on our Android mobile phones. It could be great to have all our contacts merged together on house phone (Android actually supports multiple Google accounts). And this is just an example.
an android powered house phone?? I don't see the use in it really to be honest with you. If you're tech savvy enough to use android... you shouldn't be having a house phone... unless i guess it's ooma.
i am so not buying that this is stupid it's just like an iphone for your house just go buy and iphone or since if oyur buying it you have wifi or it won't work just buy an itouch and download a voip calling app and buy the earbuds that have a built in microphone. and those you can take on vacation with you too and you can't really take that phone on vacations or to freinds houses
again....no video camera. WHY PEOPLE!?!?! Can someone make something exactly like this with a screen and camera on one side so,(when skype comes out for android) we can all do portable video chatting! please! is that too much to ask...really?
LOL did any one see how the camera guy was taking the phone to hold it the other dude was taking it back from him and putting it on the dock and so one its like the guy did not let anyone touch his phone
like the innovation finally. but it wont grab on very well. like the internet and email stuff. also its 2 complicated my grandmother wouldn't use it and that would make my life a pain in the ass. a great thing this will do is get rid of those shitty phonebooks we all cling 2. well the average person.
@gundambob646 - Innovation is one thing but it seems pointless to me to put smart phone capabilities in a home phone. Who is gonna use e-mail and internet radio on a landline phone when most people have a computer that does the same stuff and better? The ring tone concept could be interesting but other than that and putting people pictures on there, I really don't see a point in this other than for them to just say "look at the cool product we put out".
it's available!!!!! $149.99

I think this will do very well in developing countries, but I can't see why anyone in the US would buy this.

how my mother can do voip, if there is no android market on this, to download voip app i.e skype?
she's not able to "download apks from the internet"... and then btw, this is called piracy
qlimax86 2 years ago
Yeah, If it's a pay app if it's free you can move it around then .
Loser85 2 years ago
@qlimax86 Nah, app developpers can release the apk apps on their websites as normal .apk downloads. That's not piracy..
Logically, I think, Google will allow more devices to access customized versions of the Google Marketplace soon anyways.

Every big brand company wants in on the business money. But nobody has ever wanted the internet to become a victim of corporate control. Just sad.
