  • this is one of my favourite tracks, from the absolutley indispensable Physical Graffiti... i may get flamed for saying this, but Stone Temple Pilots have such a similar dynamic as Zeppelin.

  • ooooooof, listen to that bass!!!

  • DAMN STRAIGHT.. Without JPJ or Bohnam Led Zeppelin wouldn't be so great

  • All the Jap shows were great, possibly the best shows Zeppelin ever did, hope some soundboard recordings will surface from them, though the audience tapes for some of the shows are awesome (ex Osaka).

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH...go JHB

    I love you

  • thats fucking rockss

  • WHY CAN'T PEOPLE SPELL. It is Page you idiots. Listen to your Zepman he knows.

  • There are some very good drummers around today, but I hear no ones drums sounding like this live or album wise at all. More often than not in today's rock music, the drums are fairly buried in the mix. Bonzo's drumming is always thunderous. Like rock drums should be IMO.

  • RETRACTION:

In an earlier post I stated; "Bonzo and Paige were something special".

Although the sentiment of the post is wholeheartedly maintained, the surname of the famed guitarist of Led Zeppelin should correctly read PAGE and not Paige.

I regret the error and apologise to Zepman2393 for the typographical error in the submission.

    Thankyou,

    T

p.s. I love the trilogy of Page, Clapton and Beck all playing in the Yarbirds.

    Just kidding. Yardbirds.

    lol

    Respect to you all.

  • ur wrong dude. his name was never paige. he never changed his name.

  • He changed his name.. just not his last name mate

  • Page.. say it with me PAGE

  • In your gratitude for this post. Bonzo and Paige were something special. Frick he could bust a drum with some power. Awesome collaboration of Musicians.

  • thank you for the comment. but this annoys the shit outta me, acknoledge you spelled pages name wrong, please..

  • Just the best,BONZO

  • Page really struggles on that Beginning Guitar. That was slop. He was really out of it. Compare that with his playing in the early 70's. Doesnt even sound like the same guy.

  • It's Bonzo at his greatest one's again, and it also shows how

Bad Ass was the Led Zeppelin Tour of 1977!!!!

  • I think Bonzo's best night came in during the LTTE concert on june 21st that year, shocking drumming all around.

  • I agree with you. The opening of TSRTS and the last 5 minutes of No Quarter from that show are unbelievable!

  • dude Jones can do w.e he wants and it works.

  • The bass fuckin rocks

  • It's alembic basses (which sound like that) not a slap bass..... and it sounds great once you get used to it.

  • HEY! wtf i get a -3 rating!?!??! well, w/e my opinion lol

  • But It's Not a slap bass!!!

  • Great performance though, this shows they really still could do it

  • yeah well while yall argue about it, ill enjoy the greatness that is zeppelin on stage. listen, you may dig something.

  • bonzo 90 percent of the time played like this in 1977.. he might have gotten fat but he was BEAST!!!

  • he wasnt fat he was overweight

  • Yeah, but he was strong, like a Bull.

  • Hahaha, catch Bonzo shouting "PICK IT UP!" at 0.55.

  • @Sanctimoniously LOL and pick it up he does!

  • now thats a funky intro!!!!!!!(:

  • that sounds like the alembic bass..its certainly not the Fender. I think Alembics are the highest quality basses you can get (along with Kingbass), but I dont think the tone fits Zeppelin songs. The Fender Jazz is really the ideal bass for Zeppelins music, in my opinion.

  • of course its not the fender. Jonsey retired his fender jazz bass after 1975, and stuck with the alembic for the rest of Zep's career. The alembic is good for a lot songs like sick again, achilles, etc.

  • Its good for achilles but I think it's just too treble-ish for me. I like the smooth creamy bass sound that the fender gives, but you're right, a lot of their latter songs are better with the treble bass.

  • I think JPJ using the Alembic, which doesn't have as full a bottom end punch, still works well here. Gives the song a bit of a funky twang.

  • Love Bonzos fill between 18-21. That's all left hand and right foot, snare to kick.

  • Great download Zepman...SA always great live and always played with ATTITUDE..do you have "It'll be me" from this show...I recall that totally rocked!

  • It'll be me was not played at this show as an encore. The encores for this show were rock and roll and trampled under foot.

  • How are you gonna say "dont listen to Zepman" I THINK I OWN THIS CD! And I know for a FACT that It'll be me was played on JUNE 26th 1977 in LA, NOT on May 21st, 1977 Houston.

So Ive prooved you wrong, once again Ravenite. Stop messing with me already, you said you would stop. If youre a real man youll keep your promise. So please, stop harassing me, and talking smack you cant back up.

  • heroin influence my ass. I take every 1977 show individually. and this one rocked. Your just finding ways to BS a good performance.

  • Wow go kill yourself.

  • I see you started with me again, saying "Zepman doesnt know shit" It turns out actually all of ur facts are wrong. It was In through the Out Door that page was not around much. Were you actually with Jimmy all the time, enough to know that he was constantly locating heroin? He was not as fucked up during this time as he would later become. By the way, I thought you told me in that message you were going to stop harrasing me. I THOUGHT WE SETTLED ALL THIS. Now u say I dont know shit! WTF!

  • hey to hell with that punk ass. your boots rule man ,just keep em comin

  • Man, do I hate the sound of that Alembic bass! Was JPJ deaf at this point? It sounds like a tinny buzzing fart symphony. Jimmy and Bonzo are on fire here though. Great upload!

  • Its the recording quality...

  • Zepman is right, this is not the Destroyer version of Sick Again. I have that particular set and this is different.

  • Il vero genio del gruppo.

  • thats what it says on my disc

  • The Destroyer (cleveland)show is from 4/27/77! I even put the date of this show in the video title!!! 5/21/77 (this vid!) was Houston, at the Summit! Not Cleveland!

  • sorry man, for some reason, i thought it wasthis disc, but of course, ifrealise that indeed I am a twat

  • yeah, April 22nd on my disc... identical performances though

  • 27th, fuk my messaging is knacked

  • It's in Cleveland '77' on the Destroyer album

  • Where was this show? That's some sick guitar.

  • BOOONZOOOOOOOOOO. Christ, I best get practicing. The man's a genius. This just shows how much he held back most of the time....

  • Thanks so much for all your videos ! :)

  • It makes me wonder what 19 May 1977 was like. Could it be like it was a month later, with the 19th June show being poor (due to Bonham, of all people), and the 21st being amazing?

  • The drumming is amazing, JOHN HENRY BONHAM FOREVER!!!!! LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER!!!
