So, I have my Nook Color rooted with Froyo Android 2.2, but I don't know how to overclock it... right now, bluetooth does not work, and game emulators like N64oid are very slow. How can I get it to 1.1 Ghz?
I love this rooted nook color. It all works great with one exception. I can't connect to my pc. I want to download ebooks with Adobe Digital Reader but can't unless the nook is recognized by the pc. Is this standard? Or am I doing something wrong?
Just one question Sir...When the Nook go to sleep for at least 1 hour and when I turn it on, the sound is distorted that I have to reboot again, do you have an issue like this,,,,,,thnx again....

@TheRandyABQNM Any error code? Check the file size should be 450MB. I know a upload failed back in RC4 which made the rom like 150MB. Try and redownload.
What is the battery life like on it now? I am feeling that the CM7 mod has reduced my battery life even with the screen all the way down and the cell service disabled.
I just downloaded RC3 and got the official Netflix app running video. Need to make small change to 2 lines in build.prop to bypass this device not supported messages. See xda forums for details. Love RC3!

All loaded....outstanding interface....LOVE IT. Only thing I can't figure out is how to download my purchased Nook books to the Nook rather than the SD card. Also one of my purchased books won't download....."File Type Not Supported." It's animated and worked fine on the rooted 2.1. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
@xboxexpert The book that won't download is called The I Love You Book purchased from Barnes and Noble...it reads aloud as you swipe the pages- little kids love it. It worked on the box version. I've been exploring the nook all night and I'm really psyched. It gets awesomer and awesomer. Lots of surprises. If I could move the Nook folder from the SD card to nook internal I'd be ecstatic. But for some reason, when I connect it to my PC it doesn't recognize the drive.
Hi, I downloaded the RC2, flashplayer1, and the manual. I read the manual and the revisions...the installation instructions are clear. However, I'm not seeing what to do with the flashplayer file. I need help. Thanks.
@bonniew88 Try and install flash from the Market. If you cant or that one doesn't work put the flashplayer.apk on your sd card and get a file manager form market and install it through there.
Just installed RC2 and it works great. Very smooth and quick, but I can't get WiFi to work. Turning on WiFi gives me "Error". Is anyone seeing the same thing?
cool it wouldn't install the rom. I just did a full wipe and did the full instructions instead of the upgrade and it worked great. This is an awesome upgrade! Thanks for the hard work buddy. Also anyone having issues buy the manual makes the install really easy
@waynelo 2.2 has the ability to utilize Bluetooth. I'm pretty certain RC2 is the final 2.2 I'll be releasing other then kernel updates to increase functionality. They will be small zips that you can flash through CWM to update the kernel. Bluetooth will be activated that way.
When I update from your previous ROM, do I loose any of my downloaded apps? Do I follow the exact procedure in your manual from the previous ROM? I am having 1 problem with 2.2. Can't download from drop box, box net or from my Kindle account. I can view documents/books in all 3 but I get a non specific error message when downloading.
@omnataraj You don't loose any downloaded apps since you can just re download them. Use RC2 its amazing. Its the same procedure you used to install 2.2. These errors your getting did you use my manual? If not I suggest you grab a copy since I've never hear of those issues.
Can anyone suggest optimized settings for Handbrake to make videos for the NC with this ROM? I love everything about this ROM, except that my video playback has a slight stutter to it. I've tried about 8 versions of the same clip with different settings, but I still get a stutter. I'm using REV311. I really don't have any need to upgrade unless it affects video playback.

your Rom was very easy to install for even me! Love the way it works and I have figured everything out except how to keep my wifi from shutting off at times and I downloaded Nesoid and I can't get the game to play it wants me to select a Rom and I have the sd card in but every choice they give me doesn't work. I paid for the app so I have no clue what I may have done wrong. I also notice which isn't a big deal for some of my apps including the nook app I have to keep the sd card in. i
@joshs475 Copy the WretchedBlues zip file to the microSD card that you used to install xboxexpert's ROM and then boot you Nook Color from that microSD card. Now, choose "install zip from SDcard," select the WretchedBlues zip file, confirm the choice, and after the installation is complete remove the microSD card and reboot.

@therajofraj I will have a version with softkeys really soon RC1.Softkeys. Release is not yet determined I'm moving to another location and am in the process of setting up my machine. BT works in the CM7 RC4 build so yes it will work in mine. I have yet to test tethering but I'm sure it works.
@xboxexpert Have you checked out the WretchedBlues NOOKcolor Theme? It moves the status bar to the bottom and provides Honeycomb style softkeys in the status bar. I installed the theme and it looks and works great with your ROM!

@donwalk23 No, you did not do anything wrong. The boot animation in the framework file provided in the WretchedBlues theme replaced the boot animation you already had (and would have replaced the wallpaper as well, but it uses the same background as xboxexpert's ROM).
Try checking out QuickDesk Pro to further enhance your NookColor usability and enjoyment.
@therajofraj you can look for "soft keys" or "button savior" from the market. I like button savior the best because it's more subtle. I dont use softkeys because I like the hard keys better, but there you go.
Hey @xboxexpert i love eveything with the new update great but, the wifi cuts off when the screen goes idle for a few sec. The verison before this one, the wifi connection was perfect. Also, twitter, facebook, ebay, and usaa are not shown in the market...not that i need them just letting you know. Still be far the GREATEST software out.
Just some news...I went to B&N today and was talking with a very helpful Nook salesperson. I was asking her if there were any cool things coming soon for the Nook color. She said that they may be activating the light sensor (which I didn't even know it had right by the N button) so that the Nook can auto adjust it's backlighting. She also said that they may be adding software to take advantage of the headset microphone jack. That's right...I said microphone. That would be awesome!
First, mad props to you for this ROM. Best one I've tried hands down.
Second, I have a couple of questions:
1. How do I get my volume buttons back?
2. How do I get rid of Launcher Pro? I'm a Zeam fan since it's free and it also plays nicely with SoftKeys, which would at least give me an easily accessible soft volume toggle. I've tried taking it out with the Uninstaller, but the uninstall option isn't selectable.
@longbowfosho 1. You have to pull the files for the keyboard or use a key changer program - 2. You can install Zeam and choose it as your launcher once you press the "n" key. Its Launcher2.apk in the /system/app folder. Be VERY careful when you try and delete it as it is your ONLY launder program!
Any particular key changer (see: preferably free) that you'd recommend? I'm still pretty new at this and not keen on using ADB or changing internal files.....yet.
I've tried most of your versions and found tremendous progress and stability. Also tried UD& Phiremod 5.1 but came back to V325 as it is super smooth on my Nook. Only app that I've not been able to run is Google Earth. Are there any tips to make it work. Thanks a lot for your wonderful contribution to Nook community

Do you plan on ditching the hard buttons? Tried using the soft buttons on a rom found on xda and dont like it at all. I love the rom how it is. Cant think of any other way to improve this. Soft volume buttons make sense, since they are not accessed nearly as much as the hard back and menu buttons. Also, dont know how a soft button would work with quickdesk. I think you should consider adding quickdesk to your roms. It seems like one of the most intuitive multitasking tools around.
@chuck90504 This is currently being actively worked on and the final version will be released very soon. I will then move to CM7 and actively work on that. I see a FINAL build coming this weekend they are just trying to work out some kinks with the status bar staying on top.
Got the manual, it worked flawlessly. I am very happy and can't wait for updates. Blue tooth would be mind blowing. I am sure it is coming. Either way I am happy, worth every penny. How do I test to see of Flash is working? Thanks XboxExpert!!!
I have been using your ROM since the first day I rooted my Nook, and the builds just keep getting better. I will be looking forward to CM7. Thanks for your continuous work in perfecting these builds. @e117v1 REV325 is most likely going to be the final rev now i'm going to push out REV330 with softkeys and volume buttons stock and move to CM7 base and work from there :)
@e117v1 Titanium Backup works well for updating my REV's, I had a female user use it and she updated from a very low REV and said it backed up and restored her stuff perfectly.
Paid for the instructions and followed everything step by step and worked out great. I was on Froyo 2.1 OC @ 1.1GHz and i thought it was fast enough,but this ROM seems much faster. The volume button mapping is a sweet touch too. The only thing i wish it would do better is encode videos a little better, not youtube, but the mp4's and such off of the SD. Am using a 10 speed as well. But other than that...this thing is awesome and worth every penny.
Hey I've loaded flash 10.2 so that I could watch hulu and netflix through the app "playon" which works great. I'm curious though, I loaded the game asphalt5 a race car app but the vid is not able to play. Does anyone think it might have to do with the flash 10.2? Also if anyone has recommendations of other cool race car apps that work the help would be appreciated.
this is an awsome rom. I use Titanium to back up before updating. I you use the manual, you will have no issues. Also, anyone know of a good app to text? I am currently using google voice, and it works ok.. Thanks again for the great rom and hard work on this.
@pazman628 I'm releasing REV325 tonight it fix's some issues with certain apps and flash issues. I also added Amazon Appstore and Angry Birds Rio since its free for today on the Appstore. I also setup the base to CWR 3.0.1.0 permanently from now on.
Just ordered the manual but haven't received it yet. Tried doing the install myself but can't get the Wi-Fi to stay on. Tried reloading...no help. Wi-Fi goes to "turn on" but them pops up an error message right after. ?

@bfaidherbe The download for it is on this video just goto that site and have it downloaded to the nook...should work. I have had reports of it working on 10.2 but personally it didn't for me.

your Rom was very easy to install for even me! Love the way it works and I have figured everything out except how to keep my wifi from shutting off at times and I downloaded Nesoid and I can't get the game to play it wants me to select a Rom and I have the sd card in but every choice they give me doesn't work. I paid for the app so I have no clue what I may have done wrong. I also notice which isn't a big deal for some of my apps including the nook app I have to keep the sd card in. i

@2010ttaz Wifi sleep has been an issue since the start. NESoid works on my device I put the nintendo roms in SDCARD:\NESRoms

@joshs475 Copy the WretchedBlues zip file to the microSD card that you used to install xboxexpert's ROM and then boot you Nook Color from that microSD card. Now, choose "install zip from SDcard," select the WretchedBlues zip file, confirm the choice, and after the installation is complete remove the microSD card and reboot.

@therajofraj I will have a version with softkeys really soon RC1.Softkeys. Release is not yet determined I'm moving to another location and am in the process of setting up my machine. BT works in the CM7 RC4 build so yes it will work in mine. I have yet to test tethering but I'm sure it works.

@xboxexpert Have you checked out the WretchedBlues NOOKcolor Theme? It moves the status bar to the bottom and provides Honeycomb style softkeys in the status bar. I installed the theme and it looks and works great with your ROM!

@LinuxParadigm Thanks for the post, this is what I was looking for. I am not a big fan of the softkey app. I was able to place the zip on my sd card, and installed from SD card (Recovery). Works great...Thanks. It did change my boot animation, did I do something wrong?

@donwalk23 No, you did not do anything wrong. The boot animation in the framework file provided in the WretchedBlues theme replaced the boot animation you already had (and would have replaced the wallpaper as well, but it uses the same background as xboxexpert's ROM).
Try checking out QuickDesk Pro to further enhance your NookColor usability and enjoyment.

@therajofraj you can look for "soft keys" or "button savior" from the market. I like button savior the best because it's more subtle. I dont use softkeys because I like the hard keys better, but there you go.

Hey @xboxexpert i love eveything with the new update great but, the wifi cuts off when the screen goes idle for a few sec. The verison before this one, the wifi connection was perfect. Also, twitter, facebook, ebay, and usaa are not shown in the market...not that i need them just letting you know. Still be far the GREATEST software out.

Just some news...I went to B&N today and was talking with a very helpful Nook salesperson. I was asking her if there were any cool things coming soon for the Nook color. She said that they may be activating the light sensor (which I didn't even know it had right by the N button) so that the Nook can auto adjust it's backlighting. She also said that they may be adding software to take advantage of the headset microphone jack. That's right...I said microphone. That would be awesome!

First, mad props to you for this ROM. Best one I've tried hands down.
Second, I have a couple of questions:
1. How do I get my volume buttons back?
2. How do I get rid of Launcher Pro? I'm a Zeam fan since it's free and it also plays nicely with SoftKeys, which would at least give me an easily accessible soft volume toggle. I've tried taking it out with the Uninstaller, but the uninstall option isn't selectable.

@longbowfosho 1. You have to pull the files for the keyboard or use a key changer program - 2. You can install Zeam and choose it as your launcher once you press the "n" key. Its Launcher2.apk in the /system/app folder. Be VERY careful when you try and delete it as it is your ONLY launder program!

I've tried most of your versions and found tremendous progress and stability. Also tried UD& Phiremod 5.1 but came back to V325 as it is super smooth on my Nook. Only app that I've not been able to run is Google Earth. Are there any tips to make it work. Thanks a lot for your wonderful contribution to Nook community

Do you plan on ditching the hard buttons? Tried using the soft buttons on a rom found on xda and dont like it at all. I love the rom how it is. Cant think of any other way to improve this. Soft volume buttons make sense, since they are not accessed nearly as much as the hard back and menu buttons. Also, dont know how a soft button would work with quickdesk. I think you should consider adding quickdesk to your roms. It seems like one of the most intuitive multitasking tools around.

@chuck90504 This is currently being actively worked on and the final version will be released very soon. I will then move to CM7 and actively work on that. I see a FINAL build coming this weekend they are just trying to work out some kinks with the status bar staying on top.

I have been using your ROM since the first day I rooted my Nook, and the builds just keep getting better. I will be looking forward to CM7. Thanks for your continuous work in perfecting these builds. I think when I started there were only 5 or 6 post. Goes to show, you have a great product to offer. I would suggest to anyone to purchase the manual...it has been worth the money.

Paid for the instructions and followed everything step by step and worked out great. I was on Froyo 2.1 OC @ 1.1GHz and i thought it was fast enough,but this ROM seems much faster. The volume button mapping is a sweet touch too. The only thing i wish it would do better is encode videos a little better, not youtube, but the mp4's and such off of the SD. Am using a 10 speed as well. But other than that...this thing is awesome and worth every penny.

Hey I've loaded flash 10.2 so that I could watch hulu and netflix through the app "playon" which works great. I'm curious though, I loaded the game asphalt5 a race car app but the vid is not able to play. Does anyone think it might have to do with the flash 10.2? Also if anyone has recommendations of other cool race car apps that work the help would be appreciated.

@pazman628 I'm releasing REV325 tonight it fix's some issues with certain apps and flash issues. I also added Amazon Appstore and Angry Birds Rio since its free for today on the Appstore. I also setup the base to CWR 3.0.1.0 permanently from now on.

Just ordered the manual but haven't received it yet. Tried doing the install myself but can't get the Wi-Fi to stay on. Tried reloading...no help. Wi-Fi goes to "turn on" but them pops up an error message right after. ?
