The way she glued it meant the edges are loose - you can see the opening along the trailing edge. While you don't want to slop glue out all over the place, in addition to the glue down procedure she used you'll want to put a light to medium film of adhesive along all edges on both sides. This will ensure the tile edges are firm sealed. YOUR VIDEO IS CRAP!
This instructional video is a complete disservice to those who don't do this kind of work for a living. First, I absolutely guarantee that she didn't actually cut the first cut with the utility knife. It's a compete fake and NOT THE BEST way to make these cuts. The best way is to use a good pair of scissors. Measuring to cut out electrical outlets is the hardest part - she skips showing how to do that. YOUR VIDEO IS CRAP!!!
yeah, sold me. between the time it takes to do a tile job, and the time it takes to to this job its a no brainer. sheets may average $20 each, but a 2 day tile job versus a 2 or 3 hour faux (actually nice too) job. yeap, thats a winner.
We just put in a whole new backsplash after watching this video! It looks amazing. It isn't quite as easy as it looks- but still very simple. The cutting was the hardest part- we used shears instead of a utility knife. Great video!
Lowes has end caps available to finish off the edges.
