I strongly sugest that you listen to the bass line on the record carefully. He mostly uses the d and the g string. Good luck with your band and remember practice makes perfect.

I'm not really sure how you would know what string he is using. You can find the same notes on lower strings... If you mean the tone is different, then that statement would make sense. Either way, it's pointless. He doesn't play the bassline from the recorded song live. Check out what he plays live, it's pretty weak. Like I said, this is only an interpretation.

Thanks man, this was just my interpretation. If you listen to the song, you can hear two recorded bass lines. In concert he plays a really mellow bass line. This one probably has a bit to much lead to play live, but is close to the one played in the mix on the record. I might post another one too.

bro,, this is one of the best version i've seen, but there is a little too much lead parts in your version,, if you tone it down a little i think nikki sixx would want to used it live one day. i did some roadie work for the band at crue fest '08. nikki sixx played 4 different versions of track, but overall, its amazing!!!

Tell me which video you were watching. I saw Nikki Sixx play it live, and he plays a really dull version live, basically the root notes in the lowest key. He doesn't play any of the higher key stuff that you hear me playing. I think it's recorded with two bass lines. I've also come up with a bass line that is a little bit of both, different than the one you hear me playing in this video.

I play with both fingers and picks. This song is played with a pick by the actual bassist. I don't get into the whole argument of pick vs. finger playing. There are advantages to both, and honestly, I started playing with a pick first because I grew up playing guitar. Once i picked up the bass, I used a pick and years later learned to play finger style. I prefer a pick. I like the attack and the way it hits. It fits the style of music I play much better than using fingers..

I haven't been able to find the exact tab for it. It's as close as I can tell. I think that he actually plays to bass lines during the recording. One just holding open root notes and then the rest playing the faster rhythm that I play over it.
