How I wish I could listen to him in live performance... No matter how evil the character he portrays is, he always seems to give it such a depth and passion one cannot help him/herself sympatizing with him.

Hvorostovsky has achieved so much as verdi bariton, absolutely sublime.

Radvanovsky is a wonderful verdi soprano.

I really look forward to their Ballo and Trovatore together in the future.

Very good. I've heard him in Ballo in radio, and he was great (but Licitra sucked...). He's a wonderful Renato. You can feel his hatred-love for Riccardo/Gustavo. He adored him. I love this character. A noble soul, although he becomes a murderer.
