Folks this got the most advanced cockpit system, most fuel efficient, most environmentally friendly, most lightest & yet strongest composite material composed of, most quietest, best cabin air pressure/ air purification system, and most comfortable ride for passengers in any plane ever built so far; I'm so very proud of you, Dreamliner!!
It was a brand new Airbus A380 flown by Quantas that blew its Rolls Royce engine causing serious damage to the aircraft that had the potential of bringing it down with more than 450 people aboard in Nov 2010, we'll see if Boeing has a problem that resembles anything like that with their brand new aircraft.
The most powerful jet engines ever produced are GEs used on the 777ER the worlds largest twin jet, it has a gross weight of 775,000 and can safely fly on only one of those engines.
@andreestes99 cant really call airbus eurotrash as 25% of the boeing dreamliner is made in Britain never mind the other parts that are produced for it from the rest of europe.
nice vid. hope to see one fly in at Manchester in the future. I seen the A380 for the first landing at Manchester, i hope to see this dreamliner land for the first time at Manchester too
@ghune You are correct. However, before deregulation in the U.S. people actually chose their airline. Although flights were not as competitive regarding ticket prices (they were generally consistent), your flight experience was exponentially better (even in coach).
I must say the a380 was more awesome than this, this years airshow was a disappointment. Not just cause the 787 does not look cool or anything but the F-16 crash
Sometimes you don't want to make a nice smooth sailing landing. With short runways and an aircraft like this the Captain wanted to make sure to plant it and did a hell of a great job.
I see that there is a tiny parachute on one of the wings. I wonder how they get it to go back into position.

Bah, nobody choose a flight because of the plane or the compagny. It's always the price that counts the most.
ghune 5 months ago
@ghune
well, that's true - sort of...
I know lots of people are choosing to fly with airlines that have the A380 and choose flight days/routes that they know the A380 are on.
ALSO, since the 787 dreamliner will be much cheaper to run, then lots of people will end up flying on it because the fares will be cheaper

Listen To The Power Behind Boeing! God Damn If JetBlue Brought In A Boeing Fleet, I'd Defintley Give Up The A320, No Offense To Airbus Though.

you won't have to I am sure Airbus will improve it in many respects very soon

Sort of a little brother to the 777, I know that's completely inaccurate from a technical standpoint, but in the air, there's a family resemblance!

the wings curve reminds me of Hobie Alter's Hobie Hawk r/c sailplane from the 70's :) does anyone know what is trailing off the vertical fin ?
unwired0812 7 months ago
@unwired0812 It's a probe to measure ambient pressure. That's all that I know of.
jasleil 7 months ago
@jasleil thank you, wonder if it has to do with the infihedral wing in flight ?
unwired0812 7 months ago
@unwired0812 What wing in flight?
jasleil 7 months ago
@jasleil that blended dihedral shape of the main wing
unwired0812 7 months ago
@unwired0812 Oh, that's new to me. Those probes are only on test planes. Production line ones won't have them. Just an FYI.
