  • Hiya, great video! any recommendations on what kind of EQ settings to use for basslines like this? I always struggle to get them to sit well with the drums! thanks!

  • I'd rather draw in cutoff automation by hand.

  • he could make deadmau5's somechords with those sounds at the beginning

  • "Advanced Bass Techniques" LMAO

  • Pretty nice sound... keep working bro. Take a listen to my fuckin dubstep presets an tell me what do you think ; ) ======================> youtube.com/watch?v=b8Vyjt2N4e4

  • There are some negative comments here, but all I wanted to learn was how to get the 'performer' bit up...

Which I can now do. Fank you :)

  • That was about as advanced as a sandpaper handjob

  • Not advanced at all. you can figure this out the first time you mess around with the massive

  • nice performer sequence

  • Thanks for not even showing anything about enabling performer and adding it to a patch lol

  • Not only is your use of massive totally shitty, from the arrangement of notes I'm assuming you know close to NOTHING about music theory.

  • Yo man, great Job showing us noobs!!!

I see your using Cubase, i messed around with it 6/7 years ago, can i ask is it a little more user friendly these days?

  • bro you have 3 oscillators, 2 filters, AND 2 Fx, not to mention macro controls to fuck with and this is all you did?

  • god dam i hate ice man beats after that intro!!

  • peaking much?........

  • You scream "ICEMAN BEATZ" too loud, you dick. People wearing headphones don't appreciate being deafened by your garbage. On the plus side, the ringing in my ears made your horrific crap sound slightly better.

  • @jimpennnn yah who gives a fuck what iceman beats is

  • Sorry but breaking the tie of dislike/likes i'm #62 angry person. haha.

  • FUCK you killed my fucking ears with that loud ass intro

  • Hahahahaha I can.....well...i've done better Haha!!!!!!!!!

  • Helped so much. Thanks a lot!

  • Sounds Really cool!

  • holy shit u haters make me worry for mankind.... setlle yer kettles... bros need to know this stuff :p

  • I guess it could come in handy, when I do a christmas album. lol

  • Comment removed

  • dont know why people are shitting on this. i generally automate my lfo outside of massive, i learned a new technique and thus this video proved useful. quit bitching.

  • the video isnt so bad, its just not really "advanced," depending who you are and how much experience you have.

  • this aint even bad

  • title is false advertisement.

  • hahah insert negative feedback here

  • some of you "producers" on here just sound like a bunch of wankers to me.

  • tzzzz boring... and mate: you´re clipping ;-)

  • yeah i'm a beginner and i already understood this..

  • oh my god! it was just... such a disaster! :O

  • my head hurts :|

  • It may not be professional quality, but if you can't create something better then don't knock someone for trying. Actually, why knock it at all? Feel bigger now?

Someone commented on mastering... What's there to master with 3 basic sounds? The only thing I can see clashing is the kick and the low end of massive, but its not going to effect it that much being such a minimal loop .

    Just grow up kids, please.

  • This is about as advanced as banging two bin lids together and sounds twice as shit. Fuck off with your shit amateur 'tutorials' and learn how to produce.

  • now i no how deadmau5 made - cthullu sleeps!!

  • nice drum samples...

  • You could have come up with something way cooler than that using the technique.

  • Visit my site for 27 heavy dubstep wobble patches and 2 free tutorials

  • this might sound cool at first if you're a beginner, but if u just sit back and act like you were listening to this off a cd, you'll realize you'd give up on the song about 10 seconds after the bass dropped. stop trying to do so much to it and keep it simple. you'd be surprised at how far subtle modifications to a synth will go.

  • that bass line is actually used by the plastician in his tune 'japan'

  • aww man no don't use the performer :(

  • This minus modulation = porn music..?

  • @HaxUK yeah I agree it's literally fucked.

  • its not that bad.. show some respect for the effort fuckers

  • ice man blows... quit making beats and go to school and get an edjucation your gonna need it.

  • my 3xosc cryes

  • it pisses me off that the ppl who are posting tutorials on how to make wobbles, and dubstep/grime shit are the worst producers and then they say "sorry the drums aren't very good I only had 10 minutes to make this tutorial" ... Like it was a rush before class to get your homework done

  • why does everyone say this is shit?

  • Iceman beats...kids.

  • Check my instrumentals on MrHypeProductions

  • It seems to me you're just improvising, which makes this shitty video even more gash than humanly possible, but I will say thanks for uploading it, hopefully people who literally have no idea what to do with NI Massive will learn.

  • wow stop hating guys just demonstrating, i been using massive for years and i found this video helpfull. so much hate man! relax guys. nice video dude. thanks for sharing knowledge.

  • this is bad and you should feel bad

  • fail

  • "ICEMAN BEATS" made me shit my pants.

  • don't forget to mention that it's iceman beats!

  • i fail to see whats so advenced about this.

its probly the level of suckage that pretty f'in advenced

(wow, why am i so mean ? )

  • @mxtheriault then your probably beginner :( ... take some 20 years of training ( like the author of this vid ) and then watch this again ... sometimes things are to advanced for us knuckleheads

  • @mxtheriault Go back to school to learn how to spell. And, it's so ADVANCED because this synth has soo much to offer. It allows to user to create a sound for his/her liking, while keeping it simple. It allows full customization of a particular sound where sytrus makes everything harder cause everything is labeled with its own abbreviations for things making Massive a more user friendly synth. There's alot more to it than it appears.

  • @mxtheriault the beats quite good you couldnt get a snare like that.

  • @mxtheriault

youre right, also his whole mastering is bad..

  • @mxtheriault

    Not mean, fairly lame lol

  • @mxtheriault Dude,while we're being mean,you can't fucking spell.. :)

  • @ElectrumShiv Amen.

  • @mxtheriault advenced?

at least he shows a way to not have to open multiple NI Massive forms

  • @mxtheriault *I fail to see what's so advanced about this. <This is a pronoun that is not directed toward any noun. *It's probably the level of suckage that is pretty f'in advanced. <Suckage is not a word and f'in is a new word apparently. *Wow, why am I so mean? <You're not mean. You have terrible grammar, that's the problem. Stay in school kids, you don't want to end up like this guy.

  • this is horrible

  • naaah FL sucks

  • @dilealdilerxD i use FL9 and i can tell you that you can produce everything that logic can with the right vsts and samples.

  • yo what's good this is timbaland, and me and my boys invented dub bass and this shit is poppin

  • @ShaneYnclan no you arent

    shut the fuck up

  • this is retarded sounding. wu wu wu

  • @TheBphil5 hes showing u how to construct different dnb basslines u moron ! its not a question of wether it sounds good or not, just showing u how u can create different bass effects honestly some of the comments on here suggest you guys havent a fuckin clue what u are doing

  • @stussyboys just weak sounding moron. nothing in the massive tut is "Advanced" go to bed ass bag.

  • nice bass minimal sound

  • how do u download massive is it free

  • cubase sucks dick

  • @CurkJ what would you recommend?

  • FL Studio for Windows and Logic for Mac.

  • wow nice, THX

  • whats that program he uses?

  • @imDUBaere Cubase 5.

  • @imDUBaere Looks like Cubase

  • respect ant big thanks man :)

  • This is just what i was looking for. Nice One

  • I've made some nasty stuff with Massive and I had no IDEA about this! This is gonna come in handy later, man. Thank you!!!

  • reggaejoint:)

  • Yeh they are static as i have tried a lot of things and everything failed! , and @ kylec1 - yes i know about the changing of the waveform between the 2 maximum points, its just that i want so much change and that option only gives me a bit of movement. A good example would be something like the Subtractor in Reason, you can automate the waveforms so easily with a choice of 30, shame it doenst have anything on NIMassive, but thats the kind of thing i was going for.

  • @ dizzy2035 Try using only one oscilator and dont have on pitch cutoff

  • Lol this is awful

  • @MadRespek yea well the princaple is there and at least he is kindenough to show people

  • @Kribby2k6 If there is a principal it aint sayin/showin much. Theres much more to the performer tool like morphing from top line to bottom (or extending your pattern). Also how the performer envelope can be dragged negatively to give you a reverse sound of the waves drawn.

the first minute may actually help someone, everything after is him trying to perfect his sound. It just doesnt go anywhere. and i agree with TheBphil this aint advanced at all.

  • @MadRespek cool ill look forward to your tutorial

  • @MadRespek hes just showin how basslines can be spaced out tweaked up and arranged. its not an actual tune.

  • @MadRespek LMAO!!!!!!!

  • Hey, this is a god tip, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how you can automate the waveforms of the different oscillators in massive? Im using cubase and it doesn't come up in my parameters list.

  • pretty sure waveforms are static, choose three and stick with em.

  • @djshackles - I think I know what you mean... you could assign a different LFO/performer/stepper to the waveform knobs of each oscillator. That lets you change the waveform between the two maximum points of the waveform type in each oscillator.

I hope this helps - its a way to automate the waveforms of different oscillators, (but I dont know if its possible to actually change the waveform type...ie, to automate a change from Sin-Triangle to Polysaw I...)

  • if your using a scream filter thats probably why, trying using a lowpass (LP) filter (with no resonance) on and that should fix it

  • what filter type are you using?

  • nice tips dude deff see the advantage

  • yeah agree with interbus just adding notes to a leadline, i found the white line werent prominate on a cracked copy, got the propa versionn now, thought it might have something to do with a earlier version although subfocus has it on his demo

  • this is illlll!!! thanks so much for this tutorial!

  • MOTHERFUCKER!! BLARING FUCK!@

  • nice one

  • can anyone explain why in massive that line isnt white? the filters etc dont ever seem to have any effect when i use them... any ideas?

  • @itsthejunglebaby what line isnt white the performance line?

  • @louis190691 yeah like the envolope line or all the lfo line etc?

  • an oscillator plus filter, plus lfo...man this isn't advanced at all. and it sounds like shi-

  • @intertubers very true however i still found this very useful. u know any where i can find more advanced stuff everything on youtube for massive is fairly basic and i want to understand bass modulation better for example wtf are ktr osc, ktr flt and modulation osc?

  • you dont even know how much thia helped me our thanks man, you are the don!!

  • never thought bout doing that safe man

  • Niiicccceeee!
