For the singing they just had the music playing & sang the song, like any other time in a rec.studio :\ - Just 'cause you made it sound like they were just given the japanese vers & had to translate it themselves.. which obviously didn't happen xD

I do understand what you're saying, but isn't she only six or seven, or something around that? Constructive criticism can be destructive rather than helpful at that age, especially if not delivered properly. And intonation is something that often comes naturally with age, anyway. Plus, she may not even be fluent in Japanese.

But, with skill like her's at her age, I don't think there's much to worry about at the moment. One is constantly learning, and she has plenty of time to learn with.

Yes, I agree with you. Besides, it seems that the little girl was probably taught the Ponyo song only an hour, or so, before she performed it. After all, she was in Japan pirmarily for interviews (and she probably did not know any of the Japanese language, at all, going into the country).

She looks to be a quick learner. Children naturally acquire other languages, if exposed to them.
