There's a pretty big difference between North Raleigh/Cary, where most of the engineer types work and South Raleigh, which is generally more blue-collar and college kid oriented (a lotta NC State kids)
Over all Raleigh's still a pretty chill/safe town, if not boring sometimes.
Tons and Tons of Pharmaceutical, Technology Oriented companies (like Cisco Systems), Hospitals/Medical (Duke, UNC, Rex, Wake Med, etc), Science (all kinds), Research (all kinds), construction equipment plants (John Deere, CAT, Cummins, etc), you name it we got it. NC has one of the largest research parks in the US and some of the highest paying jobs in the US. Basically, NC is a a great place to live (money wise) if you are well educated and looking a job in one of these fields.
@390fe390 Nothing to do, any big city has something to do. I'm from a small boring town, but I find ways to enjoy it at it's most, like taking a walk in the country out where i live. You must just be a city dude.
@esca8652 For it's size there's considerable less to do here than you'd expect. You can usually find something, but it feels like a much smaller town than it actually is.
Just so you know, only the last minute of this video shows Raleigh. The other 80% of the video is of the Duke University campus and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, both of which are located in Durham, North Carolina.
Wow, that's cool that you went by some places I used to see everyday, like Hillsborough St. and of course, the McCafe, which has an amusing story behind it. Supposedly there was some law that said the McDonald's restaraunt was too close to another one, so McDonald's brilliantly decided to change it to a McCafe, where they sold not only McDonald's stuff, but also cafe type stuff. I remember going there with my friends for lunch during high school. Ahhh... memories.

Durham... is something else entirely.

Hope you enjoyed your visit. 4 out of the 5 minutes in your video were actually Durham, not Raleigh. But beautiful, nonetheless...
Both cities are great places to live & work!!
