  • There's a pretty big difference between North Raleigh/Cary, where most of the engineer types work and South Raleigh, which is generally more blue-collar and college kid oriented (a lotta NC State kids)

Over all Raleigh's still a pretty chill/safe town, if not boring sometimes.

    Durham... is something else entirely.

  • Hope you enjoyed your visit. 4 out of the 5 minutes in your video were actually Durham, not Raleigh. But beautiful, nonetheless...

Both cities are great places to live & work!!

  • I'm telling you people, I'm from Raleigh and there ain't nothing here :)

  • I know. That is an understatement.

  • Whats the money benefit in your city ?

  • Tons and Tons of Pharmaceutical, Technology Oriented companies (like Cisco Systems), Hospitals/Medical (Duke, UNC, Rex, Wake Med, etc), Science (all kinds), Research (all kinds), construction equipment plants (John Deere, CAT, Cummins, etc), you name it we got it. NC has one of the largest research parks in the US and some of the highest paying jobs in the US. Basically, NC is a a great place to live (money wise) if you are well educated and looking a job in one of these fields.

  • true....i live in NJ so much going on here though!

  • @390fe390 Nothing to do, any big city has something to do. I'm from a small boring town, but I find ways to enjoy it at it's most, like taking a walk in the country out where i live. You must just be a city dude.

  • @esca8652 For it's size there's considerable less to do here than you'd expect. You can usually find something, but it feels like a much smaller town than it actually is.

  • @390fe390 Shame shame too. It still deserves some rep due to the fact that it is the smartest city in the US(!)

  • omg. i just moved from raleigh. my friend goes to Duke Uni. and my dad just quit his job at IBM. lol :]

  • mostly durham

  • Over half of this is in Durham, not Raleigh

  • My name is Raleigh but I live in California

  • My middle name is Raleigh, I live in Zebulon.

  • my name is raleigh, too!

i'm not from north carolina either.

  • You are lucky.

  • Raleigh is da AWESOMNESS. Go wolfpack. (I live in Raleigh)

  • Im from Raleigh. I don't live there now tho, but this video was great to watch even tho most of it was Durham.

  • Just so you know, only the last minute of this video shows Raleigh. The other 80% of the video is of the Duke University campus and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, both of which are located in Durham, North Carolina.

  • Oh, and the Mortal Kombat movie ending theme is also a nice touch.

  • Wow, that's cool that you went by some places I used to see everyday, like Hillsborough St. and of course, the McCafe, which has an amusing story behind it. Supposedly there was some law that said the McDonald's restaraunt was too close to another one, so McDonald's brilliantly decided to change it to a McCafe, where they sold not only McDonald's stuff, but also cafe type stuff. I remember going there with my friends for lunch during high school. Ahhh... memories.

  • YAY I LIVE THERE!

  • YAY, meaning Good or YAY meaning Bad, to live in Raleigh?

  • Of course, YAY, meaning good!!
