I loove it. I am hearing and from Slovenia. I'm studying slovene sign language, so i can't really compare it yet...but my deaf friend told me that she hardly understand things.

And...thank you for doing that. I wish that one day...i will sign so fluently and do something for deafs in slovenia too.

The sign at 0:25 is "Lesbian" in American Sign Language, so I thought the song was being taken out of context to encourage gay pride or something. Hahaha.

I am an ASL student. I decided to view this site to see what YouTube had to provide for those of us who are actually interested in learning the langauge. This was the first video I saw. ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! I'm also enjoying the conversation/comments. Accent, huh? Hmmm... very interesting, even though I knew ASL is different from other "langauges".

It's nice to see actual ASL instead of SEE used in a video for a song... one question, where is the signer from? The 'accent' is a little different than I'm used to. (Yes the Deaf have an 'accent' to their signing, ex: southerners usually sign bigger).

I KNOW! Check it out in ASL though! The song is nearly IDENTICAL! Srsly! The two are nearly IDENTICAL! The differences are so small that I mistook it for an 'accent' difference, not a completely different signed language. (I should have read the discription a bit better, eh?)

Because there is NOT a 'universal' signed language for the Deaf, (as so many ignorant hearing people seem to think), it is rare that the similarities for a song would be so close like this... it's so weird! LOL!

i like to watch song in asl to try to teach my self some signing but i'm always afraid to watch foreign MV b/c i think that the signs will be diffrent. i recongnized alot of signs in this vid though. dose any one know how dif. british signing is from american?

Pretty different. French Sign Language and ASL actually have more in common than ASL and British Sign Language (which you mention), or ASL and Swedish Sign Language (which this video is in).
