  • is a 5/0 size circle hook too big for red fish near shore when they r like this size?

  • @extreme lag

I would recommend hiring a guide in your area to understand the fishing style/techniques in your particular habitat. Keep trying diffrent things. Live bait is a safe bet i.e. shrimp, threadfins, pilchards, and pinfish. Artificials work as well i.e. DOAs, mirrorlure, rapala, and my favorite soft plastic jerk baits.

  • you struggling with that small ass red fish and Louisiana hasnt suffered from the oil spill not one bit. went last friday and limited out on reds and drum.

  • @GOmuhammad straight up to that one man,,, fuck TEXAS IS THE HOME OF BIG REDS, AND TROUT... I live 25 minutes away from boca chica beach, and south padre island,,, fish down here are massive i caught a 42 incher less than a month ago. PEOPLE SHOULD TRY TEXAS NEXT TIME FOR A GREAT TIME.PERIOD

  • @GOmuhammad im currently going to tamucc and i love the fishing down here!

  • im sory but florida reds suk go to rockport texas and fish salt creek from kayak or airboat and u actually have to work for ur fish and there huge

  • HEY CAN U TELL ME WHAT KIND OF LURE YOUR USIN...I DIDNT QUITE HEAR YOU SO IF U COULD PLZZ TELL ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

  • I'm using a live pinfish. Buy them at bait stores or use a castnet@oDEIYIONo

  • @SerenityFishingChrtr So you used a living pinfish? How did you set it up? I'm more use to freshwater and bobbers with live bait. Do you just hook it, put a sinker on and toss it?

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan yep. hook it through the mouth

  • @xXxjoemanxXx oo cool XD any specific hook set up and lb test line?

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan the test line u use depends on the size fish that u wanna catch or watever is in that area. i use 20lb and that will catch a good size fish. but anyway about the setup just tie a hook on the end (u should use circle hooks they will hook the fish a lot better) but there are a lot of different setups just look at some vids on here to help u with things thats how i learned. u can hook a bait fish through the tail, through the middle of the back and through the head in the skull.

  • @xXxjoemanxXx ahh sweet thnx =] i have 65 lb test line on my current pole XD i live in NC atm but i plan on going to FL soon =]

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan i live in florida, the fishin aint all that here but in some spots it is. i want to go to SC i hear the fishing is good there.

  • @xXxjoemanxXx Really? Interesting XD Do you fish in freshwater, deep sea, or what? And do the Red Fish swim in Salt Water Canals or in rivers or...? I'm not too sure exactly >.>

  • @huntfishtacticalco

you obviously have no idea what your talking about? i guarantee that youve never ever fished southwest florida before? and boca grande pass is the number one tarpon fishing spot in the world and thats a fact.

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo @HuntFishTacticalCo

We all do respect redfishing in Louisiana may be better but the fishing will suffer tremendously because of the oil spill. Our fish her require much more skill than in Louisiana. As for the tarpon fishing, Lousiana does not even come close. Three words: BOCA GRANDE PASS! Get your facts straight first.

  • @SerenityFishingChrtr Galveston beachfront tarpon baby. that is if you want a challenge

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo not anymore :)

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo Boca grande pass is THE place for tarpon fishing

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo how does Florida suck for catching redfish?

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo though Louisiana has some incredible fishing. All those fish you mentioned we catch on a daily and yearly basis right in Biscayne Bay out of Miami. Why travel when all I have to do is turn around and drop a line.

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo shut the hell up you don't even know what your talking about. mosquito lagoon is known as the redfish capital of the world, look it up.

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo louisiana and texas have by far the best fishing for redfish and also great flyfishing... i have never heard of using a pinfish as bait... live shrimp is the best and simplest way to catch redfish along with trout and flounder and with shrimp you never know what your gonna pull up... from pompano to jacks

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo Asshole florida is great Dickhead!

  • @HuntFishTacticalCo ummm... first of all bud you dont even like have snook there... second of all, there are so many more tarpon there, third of all, trout are only cared about here if your an old man or want dinner because we all know there is better fish to be caught. yes i agree the redfishing is better but boo hoo there are no snook, and the reds are fine here if oyu find the right spots

  • Folks?

  • thatz redfish is kinda small i hate to eat fish but i love the sport been doing it since in diaperz down here in texas i prefer to fish in knee deep water up in them pot holez ive been going lately two dayz ago me nd my two friendz together got 7 redfish nd 4 spec troutt all keeperz on them live minnowz nd mullett

  • I normally hook my pinfish in one of two areas. One way is through the bottom of their jaw up through the top so their lips are closed. Most predators will strike a baitfish from behind. This will give you a better hookset. Also if your fishing mangroves that are hanging above the water, try hooking them right behind their dorsal fin. They general swim toward structure when hooked like this, and will move right under the mangroves that are above the water. Good Luck and Tight Lines!

  • wer do u hook the pin fish

  • where are u fishing at

  • i think thats mostquito lagoon or indian river

  • Why did he have to use a net to get that one in the boat?

  • alot of people lose the fish when there lifting it out of the water.

  • where are you fishing?

  • Pine Island Sound

  • "I'd like to thank my sponsors today, Shimano" haha

  • what you use to cath red fish with

  • OH! I have to add. Those DOA shrimp are killers!

  • Thats a baby redfish! You got the right idea though, pinfish or mullet every time. And a nice 2/0 baitcaster always helps.

Come fish south MS anytime if you want some 20+ pounders :)

Keep up the vids though, thanks.

  • shiiiit that shimano reel better be able to handle a redfish of that size! jk nice timing

  • Hey i live in Punta Gorda ;) We go fishing all the time..

  • he made it look easy becuz he is probable on a school that is bitting.

  • u look like a guy i know do u have a brother named brett

  • u make it look so fucking easy

  • Where in southwest florida is this?

  • North Pine Island Sound

  • can u use a baitcasting reel to catch redfish

  • yea, you can't use live bait tho, use an X-Rap or a D.O.A Deadly Shrimp Combo. Gold Surf Spoons work well, ummmm, berkly live 3" new penny shrimp with an 1/8th oz. jig head in red will do good to.

  • Triton Boat? I'm hopin to get the 240lts with the mercury 225 verado so i can go to mosquito lagoon again. Off the south point next to the space center last year i had a 36 inch red, LOTS OF FUN....

  • No Triton. 2100 Polar Bay.

  • yea i looked again and it looked a little small for a 24 ft

  • Redfish taste unbelievable and then a joy to catch. I miss this very much since, I used to fish from shore on a flat in panhandle Florida...it was soooo great. I miss Florida alot.
