For everyone who says music is haram, i think this article is worth checking out. I'm not making a judgement here, just think it has some merit to it. Why is it in all other hadith bukhari, I can see numerous repitions from different sub narrators, but not the one about music? The scholar of the ummah, Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: this means singing. Mujaahid (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: this means playing the drum (tabl). (Tafseer al-Tabari, 21/40). Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: this aayah was revealed concerning singing and musical instruments (Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 3/451)

Allah Knows Best concerning what is haram and what is not, it is He Who Forbids, due to our own best, and it is He Who Allows, due to beneficials, with a limit to it.

If you have read over this verse, you are certain that Allah Ta'aala Prohibited Music Instruments, and the question is, as well before Rasulullah Sala Allahu 'Alayhi wa Salam became a Prophet he wanted to listen to music,Allah Made him fall as sleep, how come? After that he did not return to wanting to listen to music instruments.

Why are instruments like guitar and piano haram?

I like this song. I'm Catholic, but (most people don't know this) the Catechism of the Catholic Church specifies a special place and unity with Islam, and I admire the modesty of hijab.

Well it's not haram.. There is a group of muslims which believe it is. And there are many other groups of muslims that think it's not.

I recomend you to do your own research (ofcourse not only in the internet - cause those infos arent 100% true, even Jews write hadiths and ayahs on the internet) and then you chose what you will think :)

piano isnt..its a percusiion instrument...all percussion instruments are allowed. there are different views concerning music...personally i agree with rumi..if music is the food of your soul then play on..a sufi view. music that makes ppl think of the opposite gender and things that r haraam in islam is wrong..not all...but its personal view....
