  • In the UK all of that would of had to be recycled....

  • why are there like 50 tv's? is this an electronic store or something?

  • I would not have the balls to stand there and film the garbage men picking up that much stuff because they cuss and raise hell around here if you have out more than a few bags. they would power cuss me for sure having out this much stuff lol. Great video though!!

  • Not aloud to do that in the UK, the dust from TV's/Microwaves etc is now classed as "Chemical Waste". Thes items are now collected by van/box truck and taken to a de-contimation centre, from there on, all un-hazadous parts (wooden TV frames/alimuinium frame of microwaves) are recycled.

  • come on you should at least have some fun and smash the non tv appliances yourself, e.g. any vcr, betamax, amp, cd players, tuners, whatever because that stuff is really fun to smash, and not too fun to crush.

  • probably should have used a leach it seems like the EZ pack pushes some of the stuff out of the hopper

  • probably should have used a leach it seems like the EZ pack pushes some of the stuff out of the hopper

  • learn to recycle

  • My old company would automatically FIRE a man for riding in the hopper...

  • If those old TV sets really have 6 pounds of lead in the picture tube, then why can't THAT be recycled, the same as a car battery?

  • 15 people had their T.V's stolen for the makking of this video.

  • Thumbs up if you came here from watching "garbage day"

  • Where so much in the way of old TVs and monitors?

  • GARBAGE DAY

  • @a1staek Huh? NO!

  • @hitmankgm *shoot him* Ha-ha-ha

  • That's a lot of resources lost to the landfill

  • where did u get all that stuff?

  • Garbage treatment like in a 3rd world country.

I wouldn't have thought that about Canada!

  • You have a lot of electronics at your house!

  • NO THE POOR COMPUTERS! (/emo cry)

  • thumbs up if you got here from GARBAGE DAY

  • Truck driver: " GARBAGE DAY! "

    * Pulls a gun and shoots the camera man "

  • GARBAGE DAY!

  • Hey Packrat79 next time you have any solid state T.V.s or any retro portable would you mind giving me a email me a personal message before you get rid of them.

  • thats cool

  • at 3:42, what the f*ck do they try to pack with the packer at the right ?? they really needed a really big diamond to do that i think!

    5/5

  • Why is not this E-waste recycled ? Why is not sent to recycling company ?

  • poor bin men they don't get payed enough to move all your crap for you whilst you watch them.

  • The waste television glass may make the television to use the screen glass related product The Canadian thinks with multi-wastes

  • I very much agree with iamgenx. This is really bad. I hope u understand electronics are considered "hazardous waste". My 2 year old sure loves this vid. good post I guess. lol

  • Your talking out your ass. If anything, the state and the waste company's make it perfectly legal to throw all this stuff out. It would have ended up in a landfill either way, or in the form of mercury in the rivers of China. Drink all the tap water you wish, you won't be any worse off. At least this guy was salvaging parts out of this equipment. I guess it's ok to throw one thing away every week then one big trash day. Go back to your armchair and watch a stupid game and yell at the t.v.

  • i hate that style of paker it makes more of a mess than the heil ones

  • I faved this

  • you have a awasom video+i put this video on my favoriots

  • awesome!

  • コマンドー

  • My cousin who's an electro guy said at 3:37 the tan suitcase looked alot like a vintage tube tester worth $300 on e-bay. Oh well.

  • Nope... just a worthless old portable turntable. Any tube testers I come across I sell on Ebay.

  • @orangerev999 - The legs were on the Side; it was probably an old projector...

  • sperrmülllaster haben mich schon als kind fasziniert. sehr gutes video!!!

  • Off all the useless videos out there ( trust me, i post most of them ) this has to be the coolest one yet.

Keep it rolling. got any more?

  • The guys in my area wouldn't even spend this long getting all that. They'd just leave it. Way too much.

  • They wouldn't let you. If you by chance got hurt, they wouldn't want to risk getting sued. It's best to let them do their job.

  • not funny.

  • where do u get all of this stuff???

  • thiis is a heil E-Z PACK if m correct ?

  • no its an E-Z Pack

  • thoses guys throw 25 kg CRT''s like cans

  • this vid is aosome :)

  • Garbage man : Put it on YouTube?

    Video guy : I might.

    That's CHOICE ! LOL!!

  • umka kondistonda money cool dish

  • i love how the driver didn't get out to help lol. in the town i work in we wouldn't beable to pick up half of that stuff u have to buy a sticker from the town for tv's and white goods

  • haha that was tight homie, i bet they was like wtf when they seen all that shit they had 2 throw away

  • u should of brought it all to a scap yard to get it recycled and u get mony for it.

  • Is this some third world country or what? Ever heard of recycling?

  • INO

  • Those items should have been taken somewhere and disposed of properly or given away.

  • What the hell where you making bombs lol all i heard was metal

  • I've said it before and I'll say it one last time - I'm not going to pay $75/ton to have these disposed at a landfill. Why don't you tree-huggers go get a life and stop bothering people.

  • you earth hurter. dispose of prperly

  • Yeah those eco-freaks are not only missinformed, but also ignorant. All that shit ends up in the land fill anyway. If they had a brain here, they would do like in European countries WHERE LANDFILLS ARE ILLEGAL. THey would throw it in a ZERO EMISSIONS plasma incinerator where the heat boils water and spins a shaft to PRODUCE ENERGY. But tree huggers are of course against that. WHY? Who the fuck knows?

  • I think I know: it's because the whole green agenda isn't really about protecting the planet, it's about taking away our rights and freedoms and bringing in the socialist agenda. That, and helping to sell electric cars and low-flow toilets....

  • Of course, it's the NEW WORLD ORDER, This "enviro crisis" was originally planned during the 60's by the Club of Rome. They can recycle all this shit for sure, but they will charge you for it which is insane. As for electric cars, we had the EV1 about 12 years ago and they killed it. It's an esoteric agenda, but too many sheepos not reading between the lines.

  • @packrat79

Electric cars are cool. I drove around in one some weeks ago (for free, it was a SMART promotion campaign). If you want to see my video:

    watch?v=JV8mDU2RfuE

  • @alyr315 pyrolysis is definately a smart option i wish people would adopt that in the us

  • Hey packrat, first of all I'm not a tree-hugger but think recycling should be mandatory to save resources and reduce landfill use. It's coming to that day thankfully. Second of all, where the hell do you live. Most places have drop off locations for e-waste at no charge unless you're in the boonies I guess. Third, even electronics retailers like Best Buy now accept e-waste. You pay a fee up front but then get that amount on a gift card to use there so $0 net cost.

  • Here in NB Canada there are no free drop-off locations for electronics, at least not yet. Nor is there anyone here who recycles old electronics - I've checked into it. You can take things to the landfill but they charge $2 an item (or $75 / ton), and it's still going to the same place. So curbside pickup is still the way to go.

Personally, I preferred the days of the public dump, when you could go sort through the garbage and find all kinds of goodies....

  • @packrat79 I probably got roughly half of the things I owned in my childhood from a dump, and it certainly has never bothered me

  • why cant you stop being fucking lazy and dispose of these things properly. you are harming the earth and those innocent workers

  • I AGREE!

  • for giving a fucking damn

  • In the state of Minnesota this would be illegal to throw all those TV in the landfill. Soon all states will ban TVs and Monitors from the landfill

  • wow you sure did watch a lot of tv...LOL did you have 5 or 6 in every room of the house??

  • fucking chemical in the envir.

  • terrible & the trash guys get the wosrt of it and likely arent even aware

  • really items like these are for recycling and not for any trash truck pick ups...

  • hey items like this go onto ebay....not in the fuckin trash

  • Who the fuck is going to buy AN outdated VCR of fucked up TV?

  • people who care. it would have gotten recycled

  • Damusician, The strereo console you see, it's not a Magnavox but a Fleetwood (now Sylvania) I had this model several years and had a great sound. I had an authentic american Magnavox stereo console with sliding panels on top (as cover) bought from a guy with all litterature and manuals. Unfortunately, I have lost it in the fire of the house of my sister in 1993! I have lost a huge collectible!

  • Realy Perfect registration! No spoken comments, no irritating music, no stupid graphics... just the bare necessity. Pure pleasure!

  • Awesome Video!

  • All that Metal in the garbage.

  • There goes the gold, silver, copper, tin, alluminium, lead, silicium, steel-plate. It's a complete goldmine :) Nice video though! I like garbage trucks. I worked for 6 years on a Geesink/Norba (the best there is).

  • did u use a gpm2?

  • what's a gpm2???

  • its one of gesesinks trucks it also known as the vulture

  • In my country (The Netherlands) the DAF is commonly used. I worked on a DAF truck. But when I say the Geesink is a good system, I referred to the system not the truck. Geesink doesn't produce the trucks :)

  • well atleast the guy didnt freak when he saw the camerea like take it and throw it in

  • Wow, lotta stuff. I bet you used the money you got from recycling to pay the bill. :-p Cool vid. 5/5

  • i hope he tiped his garbagemen.

  • 13 tvs and 8 computers

  • LOL! You count them?!? :-D

  • Even the garbageman knows where this vid's going!

"is this going up on youtube?"

  • @Hiei2k7 LOL! Mine too!!!

  • wow great video. u had a lot of junk out.

  • haha, It was getting full there, amazing footage 5/5

  • the box is a heil, but damn thats good money right there for scrapping, the copper in that pile could make u some good coin if u think about it

  • This is the last time I'm repeating myself; the copper, aluminum, and many reusable components were REMOVED FROM THESE ITEMS BEFORE DISCARDING!! In 2006 alone I recycled more than $300 worth of metals, most of taken from the stuff in these videos.

Read the previous comments before saying something that's already been said, and making a fool of yourself.

  • ya but what about all the lead? that's toxic to the ground. Also I seen some tin in there..

  • Nope it is a Dempster Rout King!

  • With flat screen displays everywhere, all that CRT stuff is now JUNK. It was neat to see it all crushed. Nice video, almost like being there in person.

I recognized the truck too. It's an EZ-Pack. I remembered these when I lived in Toronto in the 1990s.

  • Unfortunately, recycling electronics is not feasible, no matter how many companies and cities tell you to recycle it. Very few actual legitimate recyclers exist. Most of the e-waste just get shipped off to third world countries. Google "E-Waste", or do a search on YouTube and find out the dirty truth of E-Waste "recycling".

  • I don't know what you're talking about random . In my city, every year from April-December, it is free to drop off all electronics for recycling at an E-recycling facility and many people do it. It is feasible as the people who work there have told me as they have been asked before. You can't always trust what you find on google, altavista, or whatever search engine you want to use.

  • I've known about it for a long time, it didn't take the "search engines" for me to know about it because I work in the electronics industry. The reality is that there is no efficient way to separate electronic products down to all of their individual components, therefore making recycling expensive and almost impossible. Some companies stateside will remove the lead or copper, but the rest is still landfilled.

Also, next time your city has a drop-off, ask them who takes it and where it goes.

  • I watched them disassemble old electronics. The plastic shells get shredded & recycled. The metal gets recycled, which obviously didn't happen in this video as there were metal cases of what looked to be PCs going into the hopper. The wires get melted down to extract the copper, etc. So, I've seen what happens to old electronics. It may be somewhat labor intensive but with the cost of extracting raw materials these days, it is making more economic sense to recycle what is already out there.

  • 2:01 the microwave tried to make a run for it...

  • Haha Just imagine if you set it up so one of the Tvs turned on as the guy picked it up.

  • just out of curiousity i wonder how it smells in a garbage truck think about diapers, bags with things who knows what it is filled with

    ,toys,electronics

  • Probably just the smell of crushed appliances, they have a separate truck for picking up household waste.

  • Hell yeah hacking paradise, lots of goodies in that stuff, now when all that stuff is in tha landfill and it rains the toxic stuff from the circuit boards is going to leach into the groundwater and kill the environment, im not greenpeace BTW, i just think its a waste to just throw that electronic stuff away when there are parts on it that could possibly be used to fix other electronic stuff, like i bet half of those TVs could be fixed with parts from the other TVs, same with the VCRs

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again... you want to complain about stuff being landfilled, complain to the people who throw it out in the first place. I'm just the middle man. People bring in their appliances for repair, turn down my (very reasonable) repair estimates, and I end up stuck with more stuff than I know what to do with. And for the millionth time, this stuff WAS stripped of recyclable metals and other usable parts.

You might want to read the "complaint" page on the site....

  • i saw a record player at 1:49 and a salvaged magnavox stereo console at 4:57. hmmmm, i don't think jasonlava would like to see a magnavox looking like that or going into a trash truck. he loves maggies!

  • I dont like seeing any of this stuff being thrown away, its a waste

  • me either and know what that wasn't a magnavox console i saw because i noticed it didn't had the side firing speakers.

  • you're good, im glad it wasnt a motorola hi fi man that would suck, the value of the wood even with no amp is good furniture wise, but if I ever fix this amp ill have it as a unit i can pop in and then take it out when i leave my dads b/c i can use this amp for my hard drive speaker videos

  • dude how much money did u put into tv's. damn dude that looks like it cost u out the ass lol. nice vid though

  • Little if any money went into this stuff, most was either dropped off by people who didn't want it, or I picked it up from someone elses trash.

  • yeah baybe crush it all

  • those trash guys are like crap thats alota work

  • guess they will say "i bet its fun crushing those stuffs"

  • I would have taken some of that stuff

  • hell yeah me too Id take all that stuff and salvage it for parts or whatever, fix it up hell i could use a new TV

  • I can recognize some makes trashed!:) RCA, Fleetwood (Or Sylvania), Electrohome, Candle (JIL), Zenith, Magnavox, Hitachi and Panasonic Perhaps Sanyo and Sears!!!!!

  • I think all that stuff came from a metal/copper recycling place.....If you notice most picture tubes are missing the yokes and other stuff like the console is missing everything.

    just my guess..

  • Nice thought.

  • "Putiing it on Youtube? I might" LOL

  • Wow! Where did they all come from?

  • i enjoyed that ty=] and could there [oibly be any more tvs there!? lol,lol that was funny "are you puting it on youtube" "i might" haha lol well thanks...

  • I would like to buy a copy....this is great footage!

  • Great video, I might even buy your DVD, Thanks.

  • Hi there I have a few hours of footage of the same kind of quality showing British Garbage trucks in action. I was wondering what the level of interest has been in your videos as I was consiering selling mine.

  • Why not post some trailers here corsiboy? Thanks!

  • Hi onthebins, its all on 8mm camcorder and i know how to transfer it onto VHS and thats about it for my technical knowledge.

  • You'll need a video capture card with analog input, and some software to assemble it and clean up any color noise etc. if necessary. Neither are expensive but will probably cost more than you'll ever make from your video - I made less than $40.

  • Thanks for the feedback Pakrat. I thought I was the only person in the world with such extensive footage, but obviously not!! I am goint o purchase a copy of you're video, but Im not working at the moment so, i'll have to wait. But, I do know a couple of people in the UK who would definitely be interested, so I'll post the one a link. The other is the famous Steve Jones owner of British Classic Garbage Truck, Revopak who doesnt have a computer so I will have to give him a ring.

  • Sold 5 copies within the first 5 days, and nothing since. Not sure why since the trailers are still getting new views.....

  • I'd deffo be interested! =P

  • Awesome, love those EZ pak's! Great video!!!!!!!

  • Wow, in Southern California this type of garbage is considered Haz-Mat and you must take it to an E-recycling center.

  • Same in MA. On the extensive list of things banne dfrom landfils and incinerators.

  • Here in Germany too. The video is great - but where was it taken? In Russia? :-)

  • if you lisiten after he ask do you put it on youtube? that means this has to be usa ^^

  • Oh, the only place where english is spoken are the USA? Surprise: YouTube can be seen almost everywhere on earth... so the video could (!) be taken in Ireland for example.

  • wrong... you can here where they come from ._. btw i live in denmark so i know it can be seen EVERYWHERE on the earth it is fantastic right? :O

  • Oh, sorry, I didn't listen carefully to what they said.

  • np xP

  • The English language can be spoken anywhere in th world, and its not just confined to the USA, because i know, I'm from England! Also in Europe we have to follow these health and safety law thingys set out by the EU and we arent allowed to chuck computers and TVs away, they "HAVE TO BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY" and you can tell from the accent that this video is from USA

    Great video non the less!!!

  • AWESOME GOLIATH VIDEO!

  • Very enviromental friendly!! You're supposed to bring these items to the recycle center! (only in Europe I think)

  • GREAT ACTION!!!! Love the CRUNCH!!! GOOD JOB!! First good view of the Goliath!

  • Beautiful job recording, thank you SO much for taking the time to get this!!!

  • This is the best vid I'ved seen of a rearloader in action! Thanks!

  • just 1 question where did you get all the tvs and computers from LOL

  • People give me stuff they don't want repaired (or would cost too much to fix), I strip the recyclable metals/useful parts and leave the rest for the trash truck. The site explains it in more detail (address is at the end of the video)

  • Big-mouth 370 Goliath takes a big bite!

  • Keep your eyes open guys.... I'm going to upload an ever better video today (the official promo for the DVD). Thanks for the comments BTW!

  • Really nice stuff! I liked the zooming in on the destruction.

  • Awesome video, Great view, very nice. I thought the trash guys would be a little aggitated when they saw that pile of stuff. Thanks! :) fun to watch old technology get reduced to nothing.

  • That was a great angle, I liked the way you zoomed in a few times as everyhting got the treatment.

  • nice vid buddy the EZ pack rearloaders are great !! keep up the good work :)
