  • The third drum fill of the bass and drum solo sequence is awsome, the rest of the video too. Nice job!

  • awesome

  • Neil Peart can walk on water, that is how awesome is is.

  • I love your message to Rush at the end!

  • FUCKING AMAZING SONG!

  • Samuel L. Jackson Warning:

    Spin my drumset again!

  • Great CGI man!

  • dude I want a drumset that floats on water

  • Great intro!

  • this is neal he is rush dumb ass

  • THIS MUTHA PHUCKA CRACKS!!!! 25 STARS OFF TOP!!!! The top is where the CREAM sits!!!! PEACE PEART AND RUSH!!!!

  • you took this from irishwpo you stole it from him

  • i like the dream threater drummer a little bit more....(just a little bit) but that does not mean that Neil Peart is a fucking almigthy thunder drumming god!!!

Go Neil Peart, you ROCK! :D

  • why is this made with mike portnoys drum set

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo this son is so great 5/5

  • very cool, were did this animation come from?!

all the same, nothing can beat Neil Peart, not even his own animation. LULZ!

  • I love YYZ the best airport!

  • 0:01

  • Cinenutz, that's one of THE DUMBEST thing's I have ever heard. Obviously you are the one who doesn't know shit about music.Mindless collection of chords..dude,stop making an idiot of yourself.

  • Isnt the Rush drummer one of the best drummers?

  • Yes, and don't call him "the Rush drummer". He is The Holy one, Neil Peart, God of the Drums. lol

  • lol the rush drummer. thts like something old people would say. Example. Okay ill be back im going to THE 'WalMart. lol

  • yes neil purt is teh best.

  • this is cool how he does that

  • Nice wife beater dude....not stiff enough !

  • omg hes floating on water ;) he better be carful i think it be hard to swim with drums :D

  • lol no need to swim

he can float ontop like jesus (if jesus was real that is :/)

  • jesus may not be real, but Jesus is.

  • Or like Naruto; silly anime but it gives you a deeper knowledge of internet culture.

  • theres like 3000 jesuses in mexico...

  • i love this vid

  • lol the huge drum kit isn't meant to be used all in one song. it let's him have more variety of sound throughout the songs

  • i love rush =)

    neil peart is a god.

buy, if you wanna see some drumming, look up born of osiris.

listen to the abstract beats he matches with the bass pedals.

  • Don't forget about Geddy Lee.

  • Fiman16 you obviously don't have a real respect for music. Yes Led Zeppelin fucking rules and they're probably my favorite band, but Rush is freaking awesome too. Learn to like some variety of music ya fool!

  • Math is beauty too; raw emotion alone gets you nowhere, just screaming until your vocal cords give out.

  • Neil Peart was/is good for Rush,John Bonham was obviously good for Led Zepplin,Ringo Starr was good for The Beatles-it's a relative thing man.

  • neil is pretty good but the ocean is not impressive. that was the first song i learned how to drum by zep. an impressive song by zep is definitely moby dick. thats a sick song.

  • lol im probably the youngest person who commented on this vid.. i love rush!!

  • sti ke c hot tabarnak de coliss desti dcriss

  • It's complex enough to play the drums in person to this song ...but to reproduce its complexity in a video???!!! SICK!!! Man I love RUSH and hats off to whomever created this!

  • this is amazing. look at the detail!

  • sick

  • nope....they're will never be a band greater than Rush.

sure zeppelin sold more albums than those other rock artists....but the entirety of rush from drums to the guitars is just amazing.

  • This is an amazing video! Thanks for posting this to YouTube!

  • This video is absolutely fantastic. It's weird, but the animation put into it is waaay skilled. I love it.

  • this vid is almost as trippy as a talking dog with an orange ora behind it with some pink floyd playing softly in the back ground

  • hey i like it

  • the only thing guitar hero changes is the vocals. they have actual good drummers and actual good guitarists that play. so it sounds the same. im assuming that this is the original rush version of the song

  • i think what kurama means is they used the version guitar hero made for this video... because since this video is animated, they needed the music to go with it... it does sound more like GH's version than the real thing... but if u say it's the real thing then it must be the real thing

  • i hope i'm wrong but, is this the guitar hero II version of the song? i would rather hear Rush play it.

  • this video was out before guitar hero was invented.

  • i know the song was made before GHII, but i think this is the recording that the guitar hero people made for the game. not a recording made by rush.

  • how is that even possible? the songs on guitar hero are covers. this song was out way before GH and I posted it way before GH. This is original Rush.

  • your a fukin retard..

  • I remember cranking this tune up at a youth group event at my church of all places. The congregation complained this was too heavy for them... LOL!

  • Awesome video, awesome song :)

  • ? wtf lol

  • This is the best animated video I've ever seen on you-tube.

  • This has probably already been posted, But the title YYZ was originated from the toronto baggage code which is YYZ, and YYZ in morse code is the beginning riff of the song, The short-long-long-long-short-short (or whatever) riff.

  • Actually YYZ is the AIRPORT code not the baggage code. The airport code is printed on the tag...

  • Correct - anyone knows that xMat, you git!

  • You found a really amazing video! This is one of Rush's best songs and it's Neil Peart at his best. This is a perfectly animated video.

  • Neil Peart, one of the greatest drummers of our or any time! Video is awsome! You do this yourself?

  • no. read the description.

  • Exqueeze me. Is it wrong to complain that the video is out of sync with the audio? If the drum hits were actually in sync with the music this would be awesometastic. As it is, the impact is somewhat blunted -- it is a great piece of animation, just needs one last finishing step. There ought to be a law about uploading unsynchronized videos to YouTube. I'm writing my Senator!

  • Complain to You Tube, I've uploaded things only to see later that they are out of sync. I'm sure this video was OK before it got onto You Tube's site.

  • geniouses

  • peart is the best drummer ever..no doubt

  • neil peart rocks!

  • woot

  • awesome. he kicks ass on drums!!

  • lol the drummer is wearing trackies lol

  • awsome im speechless

  • This song's awesome. Great animation too.

  • The planes are approaching Pearson International wrong. The runways are parallel to Lake Ontario (that is, east to west, those planes are headed north).

Still, this kicks ass. (And I know you didn't make it).

  • Where is Geddy and Alex? This video is bullshit

  • YYZ is the airport code of Toronto, which is where Rush is from.

  • Neil Peart...One of the beat drummers of all time! This track from Moving Pictures is pretty cool, too.

  • i dont get the quote

  • YYZ is the IATA airport code for Toronto Intl. Airport

  • Neil Peart=badass drummer

  • Absolutely incredible. My compliments on a job well done.

  • i got interested in this song when i got the demo of guitar hero 2

  • Excellent animation (and music of course too)!

  • This is cooler than Animusic IMHO

  • The Professor, Neil Peart, the best Drummer!...Excellent Animation, and I happen to like the planes flying over...The God of the Drum Kit playing on top of the Water, I love that.!! Take a bow for whoever made this, cuz it rocks.!

    -Smilin Mike

    2004 Sludgeaholic of the Year

  • this is FANTASTIC!!

  • Great animation! I wish you could of had shown Eric and Lee also, they all whale out on YYZ. Maybe you can put one together with all three playing. Great job anyway!

  • Did you mean Alex and Geddy?

  • Yeah, that's what I meant. I've been drinking and got the names wrong, sorry.

  • rush + beer, rush + weed ... it's all good, been there and done it. :)

  • Yeah, me too. I saw them twice at radio city in the 80's. I was fucked up on mescaline both times. Best concert I ever went to, the music and light show were awesome! No 3 man group has rocked the house better since.

  • The person who posted the video did not make it. Read the info, guys.

  • neil pert = sick son of a gun on the drums!! he is so good.

  • Awesome, really, rush is so good

  • i dont care it's still good

  • rush rocks. ROCKS!(oh yeah and great work on the video. try to make 1 with geddy and alex.)

  • i didnt make this.

  • This is really, really awesome animation!

  • any1 who wants to play the drums should watch this first.

  • that would be an awesome drum set to have. hells yeah

  • its really cool, but the planes ruin it

  • Heh. If you didn't already know, the code for Torontos AIRPORT is YYZ.

  • You can't help but fall in love with that song. One of my favorites to play live

  • holy crap that's amazing, shame ya couldn't get geddy n alex on it to, none the less, that's lush!

  • One of my all-time favorite instrumental songs. Rush is love.

    <3

  • oh holy hell that guys good at animation, shouldnt just feature neil. geddy kills on this song

  • you got a point

  • WELL! by "accident" i came across this, RUSH is my all time favorite band, as well as fave Prog band, this is just plain AWESOME!!! (and i had a "idea" to animate the 1st rush "logo" as you did!)- for fans of this genre of music, please come join us prog pirates at progulus.com , GREAT job on this (wouldve liked to see Neil "crack a whip" at "that" key momment-hehe :D

  • The person who posted the video did not make it. It was made by a Rush fan named Bobby Standridge, and taken from Peart's official site.

  • @Whitestripes33-sorry, didnt mean to insinuate that the person posted this -created it ;) -MAVIII(progulus.c o m )

  • The original video was done by a rush fan Bobby Standridge and featured on Neil Peart's offical web site http://www.NeilPeart.net (under the Xtras link) or cut and paste this link: http://www.neilpeart.net/xtras/index.html This is a much more high quality version and you will need quicktime to play the video.
