Actually it's funny you call it a Saturday morning kids how because that was how the show started off in the 70's. However as the audience grew up the show because less geared to a younger viewers and was moved to night times.....so by this point it wasn't a kids show anymore but kinda had an odd dynamic because of that.

Sorry, this show was not a kids show, though it did start off like that in 1971. It became an Aussie entertainment/variety show and moved to evenings in 83 or 84 and it was definately in the evening when this was made. My Father actually met Andre in Montreal in the 70's and he said that he felt small next to him, and my dad is 6'3''! Apart from that, thanks for posting.

At the time of Andre the Giant, they wouldn't allow anyone taller than Andre to be around him. Wrestlers were much smaller in those days; the WWF didn't have the Big Show, The Great Khali, and Kane. Even Giant Gonzales ( the tallest wrestler) didn't come out until after Andre the Giant passed away.

NO way 7'1". I'm sure you've seen him next to John Studd. John Studd was an easy 6'10", and he was dwarfed by Andre. Television doesn't do it much justice...I saw them wrestle in Madison Square Garden in August 1986 when Andre was going by the name "The Giant Machine", He was MUCH taller than Studd, and I saw him arrive in a taxi outside the garden, he couldn't even fit!!! He was "scrunched over" trying to be comfortable. It was pretty sad now that I remember it as an adult. Poor guy.
