I know it's been a while since you've commented on your video, but is that rail-mount and seat frame custom-built, or available for purchase somewhere?
i use these buttons on the wheel for handbrake, N20 change camera, and look back.. not really necessary to have a handbrake, but if you got the money for it, it surely is a big step to real simulation.
I see that you are using a second CSP set to make the handbrake, but I do have a few questions regarding this. Are you using the pedal orginally intended as the foot brake? It looks reasonably simple to mod a handbrake to work on the rails of the CSP as youve done but is it really just plug and play when it comes to connecting the handbrake to the pedals? And would the remote handbrake still work through the wired foot pedal connection as you have on a xbox 360 or is that a PC only option?
That Handbrake is stunning. Fanatec are seriously considering to go into partnership with you over the design of the shifter and handbrake. Your handbrake is a lot better than the Fanatec Prototype i saw because you can leave the handbrake on when parked in games like Test Drive Unlimited/TDU2. It also has a feel of a proper shifter with the push button release mechanism. In a word, perfection.
@laxxxxxxen I tried iracing, expensive and feels like there is a magic ingredient missing... can't quite put my finger on it.. it just feels sterile. (my opinion)
@laxxxxxxen Hey, wooh, That's just my opinion, no need to insult other games lol, I thought that iracing is a bit sterile looking and expensive. Hope I didn't offend you lol.
Tekiei i see u have 3 monitor. A question: is it possible play online with forza with 3 monitor? do u have to have 3 gold account and all 3 consolle connected to Xboxlive? Thanks
@ReddeV74 I know what you're referring to. You're talking about the hand movements of the on screen person. There's a slight delay in that, yes... but NOT the game. That's just how the game is.
Personnaly I like the handbrake as is (horizontal or vertical positioning could be done by using H or V mounting). It's just looks perfect.
The shifter also looks great (I have no problem with its overall big size). It only misses a body cover (because it is ugly as is^^). I also like the fact it does not seem to sound too loud, and I guess that some sound absorbing material added between an additional covering body and the shifter itself would help making it very quiet.
Teki you did a great job really. I love your videos, especially the other one where you are so meticulous while building the shifter :)
I hope your design will be brought to production by Thomas. Some people on Thomas blog prefer the previous design (for the handbrake, Thomas did not show us the concept of his shifter yet to compare with yours) because it aims a cheaper selling price than your design would, but definitely some people like it (as is or just smaller in size with the same design)
Do you know if the standard pedals have a connector for handbrake too? I'd much rather open those up than my wheel to hardwire the seq handbrake mod if possible..
Lots of Fanatec users are wondering about an analogue handbrake.
Drifting in various titles is popular and some racing titles also use the handbrake for extra braking techniques, although the handbrake is only actioned with a button push. I don't know why the sequential gear stick was added since the wheel has paddle shifters and a H pattern shifter. The sequential stick is
gathering dust. This item should be able to connect on the side of the wheel and be programmed to A or B buttons.
@Tekiei1 Could you say more about the connector on the CSP for handbrake. Do you mean that you sacrificed the clutch or there actually is a spare port and channel on the standard clubsport pedal. Very curious. Can you describe or demonstrate what you meant? Much appreciated, thanks in advance.
There is a spare port on the CSP pcb, clearly named "handbrake". I have a picture of it here: h*t*t*p*:*/*/*w*w*w*.*zimagez.com/zimage/souduredansconnecteurhandbrakelow.php
Do not pay attention to the solder in the connector. Mine was delivered faulty and the cause was this solder droped there by accident I guess (and a shortcut on 2 pins made by accident also, when they were cut after soldering I guess)
@Retrogamer71 On the board of CSP, there is a connector written as "HANDBRAKE" besides connectors for accel, brake, clutche. When a sensor is connected to this connector, it functions as a hand brake. I confirmed this only in FM3.
@Tekiei1 Wow!!!!! I just checked my clubsport after what you said. Without removing the footplate its true you can see an unconnected port. So after what you've done are you saying that the Turbo S wheel has mapping for this port when a sensor is connected? This is mindblowing and wonderful! Thank you Thomas at Fanatec.
Amazing! Does your handbrake work with G25 and/or Thrustmaster T500RS?

Your designs are inspirational, love them and the bride seat too! Have you been playing GT5 at all?

Amazing work, Tekiei!!!!
Can I connect my Fanatec sequential shifter with CSP's handrbake connector?
Of course it should be only on/off switch and not analog as your handbrake, but it should be more easy to use than "B" button on the wheel.
Do you belive could it work?
Thank you very much in advance.

That handbrake looks good but very bulky!
Is it a prototype ?
I really like the functionality but not the look as I like to have one for Rally racing in a vertical positioning !
Good work though

Really a good work mate.
One question
In your driving session it seems that there's some kind of lag between real and in-game steering.
Is it true? And if so... why this lag?
ReddeV74 1 year ago
@ReddeV74 Because I do not feel lag from this monitor, it may be specifications of FM3.

@webdigit Because many parts are made of metal, the sound of this shifter is slightly bigger.
I want to prevent the noise and dust by covering this with a box.

@webdigit Thank you!
Because I misappropriated a part of CSP, this became the big size.
I think that FANATEC can design it more compactly.

Email came from Mr. Thomas of FANATEC to me.
If the reputation of this is good in his blog, Handbrake may be released in this form.
Tekiei1 1 year ago
@Tekiei1 I myself like it very much, did completely make this yourself? like wiring, mapping, and making it compatible
shadowdragon555 1 year ago
@shadowdragon555 Yes. I made this by combining a lever of Toyota MR-S with parts of CSP.
There is a connector for HANDBRAKE on the board of CSP.
