Amy is a very foolish girl, saying to Jimmy go on get it but he is an even sillier boy to go into the electrical substation to retrieve the frisbee for Amy.
The girl Amy must have had nightmares of Jimmy's death by lethal electricity, in the substation when he tried to retrieve the frisbee silly boy . I know if Amy was my sister, I and she had said to me go on get it, I would say Amy that place is an electrical substation woman it is not safe to go into substations full of dangerous live electrical apparatus we buy another frisbee Amy and forget the lost frisbee.
I see this situation as two very foolish children the girl Amy, and her brother Jimmy playing frisby near an electrical substation and the frisby flying into the substation it gets lodged on an insulator. Amy gives foolish advice to Jimmy but he does not assert himself and say Amy don't be so foolish woman it is not safe. I know for a favt if Amy and I were siblings, cousins or pals and our frisby went into the substation. I would say to Amy we must not go in there Amy it is not, we stay out .
I think Amy was a silly girl but Amy's brother, Jimmy was daft enough to go into the substation to retrieve the frisbee for Amy. Jimmy ended up dead and fried from a 66,000 volt shock he should have said to Amy leave the frisbee and buy another one it is safer Amy. I know if Amy was my sister and we lost a frisbee in a substation, if Amy said to me go on get it I would say Amy we must not go in substations they are full of dangerous live appartus.Which is very dangerous and electricity kills.
Type FODENF1 into your search box. You don't have to, it's up to you really, but you may be missing out if you don't. Like I said, it's entirely up to you.....
I think the girl Amy in this ad, is a very foolish girl but not a manipulative bitch or a murder in any way. I know myself if Amy, and I were siblings, and we lost a frisbee in a substation. If Amy said to me go on get it, I would say Amy we're not meant to go in Substations full of dangerous live electrical apparatus it is not safe. If Amy then said oh go on, there is a gap down there these kids broke in I saw them. I would say Amy for goodness sake, woman what those kids did was wrong.
I noticed the actress playing the girl, Amy in this ad is Jayne Tottman who I saw in a schools programme look and read called skyhunter she played jackie Blake. The girl who with two boys Trevor and Butch solved a crime about a peregrine falcon. I don't know what has happened to Jayne Totttman in recent years, I don't even know if Jayne is still acting. I think the eerie soundtrack used on this ad is the type of music you could use on Dr Who for the Cybermen it would make a good cybertheme.
I would say seeing this advert for me, was never terrifying or scary, if anything it made me aware of the dangers of playing near substations and not to throw frisbees into substattions. If I had lost a frisbee or any toy, in a substation I would never try to get it back myself. If the girl Amy was either my sister or friend and we lost a frisbee in a substation and Amy said go on get it. I would say Amy we must not go in there, it is a substation full of dangerous live electrical apparatus.
I would not say this scared the life out of me, I remember this advert was shown alot during the school holidays around midmorning. I learnt when I saw this all those years ago, never throw frisbees into Substations and never try to get toys back yourself. If you try to get toys back, yourself you will not live to play with them again, Jimmy should have thought that way he was very silly going into the substation. His sister Amy is not a manipulative bitch she gave, foolish advice but he went in
I always found this advert was trying to get a vital message across, not to go into substations and most of all not to play near substations with frisbees or toys of any kind. I think the girl in this video who I have named Amy was very silly, to say to her brother Jimmy go on get it. If Amy was my sister, and we played frisbee near a substation if the frisbee went into the substation and Amy said go on get it . I would say Amy we must not go in substations they are not safe we buy a newfrisbee
I never found this advert one bit scary or frightening in any way, at all I would never scream or hide behind the sofa in terror I found this advert a very necessary thing to show how dangerous substations are . I know for a fact if the girl in this advert who, I have named Amy was my sister or just my mate and we lost a frisbee in a substation and If Amy said go on get it. I would say Amy we must not go in there it is not safe, if we go in there we are likely to get a fatal electric shock.
I disagree with the comment never let manipulative bitches, tell you what to do the girl in this advert who I have named Amy was a very silly girl to give foolish advice to her brother Jimmy. The thing was Jimmy was daft enough to go into the substation to get Amy's frisbee back for her, I know if Amy and I were siblings and we lost a frisbee in a substation full of dangerous live apparatus and Amy told me to go and get it . I would say Amy we must not go in there it is not safe we must keep out
I found this advert very important and I learnt never to throw frisbees or balls of any kind into electrical substations or play near electricity pylons . That girl I have named Amy was very silly to play frisbee near a substation . If Amy was my sister and we played frisbee near a substation I would not go into the susbstation to get the frisbee back for her. I would say Amy there is no point trying to retrieve the frisbee from a substation full of dangerous live apparatus we must leave it
@clydebear I think what you said never let manipulative little bitches, tell you what to do is rather harsh where Amy the little girl in this video is concerned. Amy is a silly girl I don't deny but Jimmy her brother is more silly to go into the electrical substation to retrieve the frisbee he should have do what I would have done. I would have said Amy for heavens sake woman the frisbee is in an eletrical substation leave it we shall buy another one Amy.
I remember this always used to be on during the breaks in tiswas. Id sit there about 3 inches from the screen adoring sally james and suddenly this prat would come on and get himself electrocuted. Actually it was almost as funny as tiswas.
its pretty unlikely that the insulator landed perfectly on that insluator, and anyway, i would throw summat at it to get it off, pick it up and walk out again!
@keiranhancock What you are saying about throw something at the insualtor, to get it off, pick it up and walk out again is just as daft as going near the insulator. I would leave the frisbee where it was, and simply buy another one you say electricity arcs ,and can jump up to ten metres and as it arcs across to the lad and kills him. I would not even go in the substation full stop, seeing this ad made me aware of how dangerous electricity of the kind that kills Jimmy in this film really is.
@keiranhancock I would not even throw something at the insulator which the frisby lands, on like you are suggesting. If Amy and I were siblings, and we lost our frisby in the electricity substation and Amy said to me go on get it. I would say Amy substations, are bloody dangerous and full of dangerous live electrical apparatus. We don't go in the substation full stop, we buy ourselves another frisby Amy it is the safer option to getting fatally electrocuted by however many volts of electricity.
@poeleabois I think your comment thats what you get for listening to your older sister is nasty, Amy gives her brother Jimmy silly advice but Jimmy does not resist it he is silly enough to go into an electrical substation to get the frisbee back and he gets fatally electrocuted silly boy it was Jimmy's responsibility not Amy's she did not cause Jimmy's death. If Amy was my older sister and she said to me go on get it, I would say Amy don't be so silly woman that place is dangerous woman stay out
It can track or arc down the insulator, that's why there are so many of them. On top of that, you'd get "step voltage". He wouldn't have taken 66kV as that's the phase-to-phase voltage. Phase-to-ground would be 38,000 volts. There were four metal-topped insulators in the stack, the frisbee was on top of the second one which would've been at 19,000 volts relative to ground.
holy frig man thats crazy no wonder they needed a psa on it. where i live in Canada its a bit more modern all the wires are in special tubes underground, during the ice storm of 98 we invited all the family over cause we were the only ones who still had power.

wow you know your stuff, are there alot of overhead wires in Britain?
Montork 4 years ago
Yep. Where I grew up there were 132kV pylons on one side of the valley, 400kV pylons on the other and 33/11kV overhead lines everywhere!

It's unlikely he'd get a shock, as the frisbee is plastic and it was caught in the insulated part of the substation.
