Did they fix the AI? Because there was very little difficulty in this game once you figuired it out. The AI never seemed to ever build up there planets or really ever keep up with you. I played it on the computer and the AI would build up a planet about halfway and then just try to mass produce ships.
@NiflheimII I'd hope so. The game was just easy, honestly. The AI never seems to figure out how to build up or how to mass it's ships, preferring to just send them one or two at a time just to get massacred by my fleet of both superior size and technology. But I played on the Computer back in the day. I wish I had an iPad.
I just got this the other day. I was very excited to see this, as I remember this coming out back in the day and wanting it so bad. It seems good so far, although I've only played it a little bit and haven't learned much about the game.
I'm also finding it EXTREMELY hard to select my ships while they're orbiting a planet.
Behold the fruit of a sixth of a century of effort. It's hardly any different from before. Talk about a bunch of lazy bums! Did they even fix the y2k problem or is the year 2011 still 111?
Gosh, pleased to see this make a reappearance. The production values were out-of-this-world, with the awesome soundtrack and creature variety. But the gameplay paled next to MoO IMO. planetary micromanagement was tedious, but the AI couldn't build effectively, Thus one large planet fully developed would gain ascendency over all the other races with their sprawling empires.
Hopefully this leads on to a sequel. Although I'm not sure about that touch interface. Seems very slow for each turn.
I spent weeks playing this game many years ago. It doesn't surprise me to see it on a mac platform. It was so much more intuitive than MoO. Lets hope it'll give LF some morale to finally do Ascendancy 2. There simply hasn't been a proper game like this since MoO/Ascendancy.
It will probably never come an ascendancy 2, they are slow and way far behind right now. . . the seekergame aswell, will probably never come. . .they should only put down time in Ascendancy 2
@AfterShaw I don't know they developed their own engine called Hydra but it's now 6 years old so they might have to license an out of house engine in order to put forward a graphically appealing game. I wouldn't mind older graphic myself, as long as the gameplay is solid, but to some it might be a major turn off. But then again, I still play SMAC 13 years after it came out so my opinion is a little biased on the matter of graphics.
I don't have an iPhone/iPad, but this is really exciting anyway to see anything at all from The Logic Factory. I'll probably recommended this to people I know with iPhones and just keep waiting for Ascendancy 2.
I hope this game actually gets released... I loved it for PC, the music is awesome and I think it will do great on the iPad... However, I was waiting for ascendancy 2 to come out for years, but afaik it never came out :(
wow! this is like a dream come true, i remember playing (the patched version) of Ascendancy playing for weeks straight. this will be the game warpgate didn't turn out to be!
Finally!!! I've loved this game since it came out. I really hope Ascendancy gains the attention it deserves, and that the attention will provide an avenue to put out the squeal.
I think Ascendancy 2 and seeker will release after The Logic Factory makes some money off this. I think its brilliant for them to release this game on the ipad/iPhone. It reports an awesome game for ease of use (getting an old DOS game to work on a newer computer is a B*tch), and makes the Logic Factory money to fund their new ideas.
Does it actually take 50days?

I used to play this when I was a child, I was awful at it. This makes me want to buy an iPad/Phone just to play this. Thanks.
