  • Killer Jam!

  • Sounds just like Burn by DP.

  • At 1:30 some told Blackmore he sucks...

  • Comment removed

  • Rainbow goes Motown!!

  • jb100--I just viewed the R&R HOF site, and checked out the inductees. Hard to argue against any of them (except maybe ABBA). But again, it's the politics of it all that makes it so vexing. Like, why are the Eagles enshrined, and Jethro Tull, who wrote 'We used to know', the song with the very chord progression the Eagles used for Hotel California, are not?

  • One of my favorite guitar heroes of all time!....Ritchie will be enshrined (In Rock) on the Mt. Rushmore of guitar gods along with Jimi, EVH, Page, Beck, Clapton, Nugent, Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, Santana, etc..... Wish he would do one more Rainbow or Purple reunion for old times sake?.....Isn't it funny that when Ritchie looks pissed off he delivers his best guitar solos and antics?.....Rock On Man in Black and God Bless!.....Long live the memory of Ronnie James Dio also!

  • why wouldn't he want to be in the R&R hall of fame?

  • pisses me off when bands rush through songs at 100mph..just ruins it.

  • good song ritchie blackmore and joe lyn turner perfect combination

  • Love this soooo much!!! <3 <3

  • Is it just politics?

Why isn't Ritchie in the R&R hall of fame?

  • @49toonster ..i dont think he wants to be in the hall of fame.

  • @49toonster ....Good question?.....Deep Purple, Yes, Rush, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Def Leppard, Paul Revere & The Raiders all have been snubbed over the years but at least Alice Cooper got in this time around!....... Its amazing that these great bands have been overlooked and some of the lame ass dopes they have inducted in the past. that got in? They should call it "Whatever Music Hall Of Fame."..........Nuff said!

  • LOng Live Ritchi THe BEst Of The Bests! God Of Guitar

  • Blackmore, Overrated

  • @busch1424 ........Are you kidding or for real?......SIr Ritchie Of Blackmore has to be one of the Top Ten Guitaristsof all Time! ......Few possess his flash playing, classic riffs and stage showmanship and technique!....Only Yngvie does justice to Ritchie!

  • Ritchie Blackmore: "I am so happy. The more commercial Rainbow' s sound is the more money we raise. And what a miracle! I cannot see Gillan on stage."

  • That's funny, Yamaha Drums.. Also too fast, sounds like shit!

  • Straight Between!!!!!!

  • I think this is one of Rainbows finest songs, you can do loads of things with it as a band, speed it up like this, slow it right down into gothy grind, and it still sounds great and punchy

  • Non Dio is slowly grown' on me after 27 years...Fukkin JLT so cheesy. This song rules.

  • I don't dislike it, but one of my favorite things about this song is Joe's voice and in this video, he doesn't really get a chance to use it correctly, it's too fast and Blackmore was high on cocaine I think?

  • @cityshark1 I was going to say the same thing. Ritchie totally appears to be coked out of his mind.

  • It's Orgasmic¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

So Fuckin' awesome, Those guys really rock.

  • Surely Ritchie and JLT didn't buy their clothes off the rack. They must have felt silly telling the girl on the counter what they were after!!

Great song, and always one of my favourites. Thanks for posting this.

  • The studio version of this song is pretty weak compared to the various live versions available . They just played it to death on tour so much that it turned into a real rocker .

  • a bit too fast IMO. there's another version on here (Youtube) where they simply destroy the song, utterly and completely. i wonder who's idea this was? Blackmore's. Too fucking fast. kills the groove that the "original had" dissappointed. listen to Joe, he's out of breath and it just sounds like a race to see who get's to the end of the song first. I'll take the Album version any day.

  • A great song made better by speeding it up!

  • Cool as shit....San Antonio...been here all of my life...unfortunately I missed this show.

  • if you wanna see this played real fast check this out ...rainbow-can't happen here-helsinki 1982... look at the list on the left ! now thats speed rock !!!!

  • btw bobby r sets the tempo when he does four cymbal crashes at the beginning of this song HOWEVER those four cymbal crashes are cut from the beginning of this upload.

  • i am a drummer and we played the album version of this when it came out and when mtv had this texas concert on in 1985 i video taped it and we started playing it like this cause we liked the energy and speed. our singer as we called him had no problem with the speed. this is one of my favorite rainbow tunes along with do you close your eyes.

  • 1:54 - look under the neck of Glover's bass, someone certainly didn't like this show.

Great video, haven't seen this in years.

  • The drummer set the pace of the tune, not Blackmore. Also, I have NEVER seen Rainbow play anything like it was recorded.

  • Is Blackmore late for an appointment?good god...

  • Wonder if Richie had fallen out with Joe back stage before this? He is killing him with speed what is the point in shredding your own fkn song dick.

  • Awesome performance!!!!

  • love this band, but........this version here basically ruined compared to the Recorded version. listen to the Tempo --- way, way too fast!! Turner barely has time to phrase and take a breath, which forced him to sing lower key, and essentially, render a uninspired performance. just rushing thru it. go listen to the "Recorded Studio Version on here" just Kills. this one sucks. sorry Purple fans.

  • No your right im a massive purple/rainbow Blackmore fan, but your right playing fast maybe exciting for the band but for the singer its very difficult, the studio versions much better as with most purple/rainbow stuff i would point people to the live versions of there songs.

  • I agree; way too fast and vocals are lost.. This is one of the few post Dio Rainbow songs I like.

  • F.king AWESOME PERFORMANCE!!

Does anybody know the names of all of them?...

  • Yeah, it's Ritchie Blackmore on guitar [ of course ], Joe Lynn Turner on vocals... Roger Glover on bass...Bobby Rondinelli on drums... David Rosenthal on keys !!

  • blackmore on his knees f.cking his fender....lol

  • its fun, because when Blackmore is speeding a song up, its usually because he don't like it, but its no looking like he don't like this song..

  • of course he don't!

this is a great song from great band;)

  • i've actually neve seen him so alive on stage =)

  • is there a full concert version of this somewhere?

  • It's a DVD called Live Between The Eyes, recorded in San Antonio..1982.

  • awsome -thanks seventiesclassic!

  • The tempo and energy are incredible. I Love this version. Great lyrics too, they've come full circle what with everything going on in the middle east these days. But yeah, Budokan - the version after this - is too fast

  • Definitely watching the clock here

  • Does it seem like they're ripping through it?

  • The Budokan 84 is even faster...way too fast.
