@lsufan88 True, Cunningham was the most accomplished player at the final table in 2006, But he certainly was not the BEST that year. Richard Lee imo deserves that honor. He had good instincts and made all the right decisions. Also he was the only one who seemed to be able to stand up to Gold... right up until the end. Although Lee does lose a few points for that bluff gone wrong against Magill on day 7, he actually rebounded nicely from that. Overall Richard Lee played the best poker that year.
At 5 minutes, where Jamie checks top pair Queens is a great play. You'd find it hard to see a player not bet that card. And Wasicka won second place because he caught the 10 at 9 minutes into the video.

Jack ass Gold played perfectly this tourney i was one that hated Gold but this the first time i watched each play. perfect play he made those guys call. If it was anyone else they would fold he had them making bad plays

I hate it when people call Jamie Gold a donk just because he get's lucky. Has ANYONE IN HISTORY EVER EVER EVER won a bracelet without any luck at all? And this video proves that Jamie Gold does have skill.

gold also made a very good read when cunnigham hit his straight on the river while gold paired his queen! he's definitely not such a donk...he's lucky very often that's right but he is a good player: he has often been on heads up against cunningham and beat him sometime

I agree with blurp29. Was a brilliant river check with top pair there. The others are right that Gold often makes bad plays, got very lucky in the event and bluffs too much generally but he definitely does have some kind of a game.

you can all say what you want about jamie gold, im not a big fan but the point is he's a world champion and none of you guys are. he isnt a great player but hes millions richer than you.

So what? That's not even the subject. The point is he didn't deserve to be a world champion. I'm not saying he played bad but luck really helped him and I don't like the way he acts. Pros like Friedman and Alan deserved to win that. But anyway, congrats to Gold.

he got sponsered either some or all of his $10,000 buy in on the condition that he gives half of his winnings to the sponser...
after he won he tried to get out of it but was sued i think, and they settled out of court

@lsufan88 True, Cunningham was the most accomplished player at the final table in 2006, But he certainly was not the BEST that year. Richard Lee imo deserves that honor. He had good instincts and made all the right decisions. Also he was the only one who seemed to be able to stand up to Gold... right up until the end. Although Lee does lose a few points for that bluff gone wrong against Magill on day 7, he actually rebounded nicely from that. Overall Richard Lee played the best poker that year.

At 5 minutes, where Jamie checks top pair Queens is a great play. You'd find it hard to see a player not bet that card. And Wasicka won second place because he caught the 10 at 9 minutes into the video.
