Now, I'm not a Krav Maga expert, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm seeing techniques in here that aren't just Krav Maga. Mainly the distanced kicks, a lot of the moves involving jumping on the shoulders, etc. I always saw Krav Maga as a close quarters form and some of the moves demonstrated seemed to require a lot more space than one might casually run into on the street. Is he utilizing other forms in this demonstration?

@firewire95 yeah they arent foundation krav maga moves but the distance side/back kicks ar a great way to cover distances and cause damage if your attacker is further than punching distance away... and the shoulder jumping move is like an aerial jiu-jitsu arm bar.. i think just for show! ... i wouldnt use it in a street fight to be honest!!

@firewire95 As a Krav Maga practitioner, I can say that Krav Maga includes fight and techniques at different distances. At green distance (You have time to stretch and prepare), and yellow (you see the other person coming, and have time to prepare mentally) and red (you are immediately in fight). I haven't yet gotten into the acrobatics, but the whole nature of Krav Maga is "whatever goes as long as enemy is taken down".

Boxing is a couple of tough guys bitch slappin each other, with rules preventing injury. MMA is a couple of tough guys having a tickle fight acting like its bad ass, with rules. Most martial arts schools teach you how to dance (Kata's). That's all fine and dandy for sport, exercise, and playing with your friends. On the street there is only one rule when your life and safety are threatened, F**k em up as fast as you can. Krav Maga is the only "real" solution I've seen. Shoalin included.

Genuine question to anyone that practices krav maga, do you already need to be physically fit & co-ordinated to practice it? I like this style out of all that I have seen as it seems to be a no-nonsense aproach to martial arts :P I did karate for a while but found it to be ignoring the elephant in the room alot of the time. (e.g not actually giving real scenarios and solutions to those scenarios) if somebody could answer this and maybe provide me with more information I'd be greatful

I would love to see him try that when he has 200+pounds of gear on his shoulder and back, with a K1 Machine gun, another 30+pounds of ammo, extra 20+pounds of gear, and heavy ass combat boots, with the devastating killer hot sun shining on them, with their really uncomfortable uniforms and their combat helmets with another weight of the gear on it. And also the wear and tear of the battlefield previously that he/she fought. Impossible to do this shit.
