  • This really rocks from 2:37 till about 3:05.

  • If you love that bit get the album version !!!!

  • someone who can tell me some of the old progressiv rock instead of the pop they wrote.

  • Once around the world? erm are you testing how much I am a fan compared to you?

  • Yes, the videos a bit pants. But the song (original) is amazing.

  • One of my top 5 IB tracks thanks very much for this

  • video does not do this fantastic song justice neither does the edit but its still great.

  • This is my all time favourite song (Well the full length 12" version anyway) & I like a fucking hell of a lot of music! I don't care if it's not considered "cool" It Bites are amazing!

  • Love the album version of this.

    What a top class band.

It's just a pity we don't have great bands like this about anymore. I just love interesting music & I just don't hear that anymore in todays music.

    It Bites ROCK!

  • 1. I Bites just released their comeback album (albeit without Frank). It's crackin'.

    2. There's plenty of interesting music out there if you just bother to do a little bit of looking around.

    3. That said, It Bites were one of the best bands ever to walk this Earth.

  • I only recently discovered this lot. Im 39 so cant believe i only ever heard calling all the heroes when they were at the height of success. The chord changes and arrangements are awesome. Sadly missed

  • i love this group shame u never hear anything from them especially all the older stuff love ya frank!!!!x

  • Take that. Kajagoogoo. New Kids on the block. Pet shop boys. Erasure... the list of 80s crap is endless. This band produced one of the greatest albums with 'Once around...' and all these other bands made it big. Is it me? or where their promo team CRAP!! We have to listen to Madogga and F***kin Gary Barlow yet It Bites die. Someone please explain.

  • Right On!!

  • Once seen a band in Felixstowe Buddy and the Earthquakes blew me away .Never made it big mate, its all about marketing yourself!

  • Just fab...

  • I agree. Ive only just discovered this lot properly, and i cant believe they never got anywhere in the mainstream, but then again, mainstream was rubbish at the time and it bites were just too good

  • one of my favourite singers/guitarists

  • This is really, really good, catchy progressive pop. Awesome!

  • So ahead of its time! I spent SO much money on their records the minute they came out (usually to find that nobody else had bought them!). Thanks for the memories. Once Around Rules!

  • Agree with all of this.

  • man, they were so incredibly awesome!

  • great band , they picked up the baton YES dropped .....

  • A friend of mine worked for Virgin in the late '80s; apparently, they spent more money promoting It Bites than just about any other act on their roster. Doesn't show from this video though.

"Big Lad" and "Eat Me In St Louis" are good prog albums - but "Once Around the World" will be remembered in years to come as a lost classic. It's awesome.

  • top band. ahead of their time.

  • Cant believe they'd produce such a crap video. Mybe the sync. probs are a youtube thing??? Ive seen it on a number of vids. Anyway, any chance to see it bites is always welcome. What a great band. So unique

  • Can't believe they produced such a crap song...I'd forgotten they were more pop than Kagagoogoo. Long hair, leather jackets, but very poopy, poopy, panty pop! Yuk!

  • Ty, are you being paid by the It Bites Defamation League or something? Okay, great, you think they were crap. That's fantastic news; we have now absorbed and digested your opinion. Let no-one be in any doubt that TyHayward thinks It Bites looked and sounded rubbish. Wonderful. (Pats Ty on back.) Could you now maybe, y'know, go and bug someone else? Reading your posts wastes energy moving my eyes.

  • ty ...oh dear.....i think you need to go see someone about your hearing, as it bites hold their own against pop like THAT!!!!

  • TyHayward your comments are plain silly. I have seen many bands live, as I am sure have you, I played in quite a few too for my sins. Having said that I have never witnessed a more accomplished group of rock musicians than It Bites. Their shows were full of amazing melodies and staggering time changes. If you had been to one of their concerts I am sure you would not be so critical. Cheers.

  • The full length 12" version is stunning! This criminally edited single / album version is as annoying as hearing the butchered 3 minute version of the crusaders ~ street life. Shame.

  • My all time favourite song! Crap video though.

  • made the charts at no.72 back in 86 i think. 1st song i heard of it bites and for me is still the best with once around the world 2nd

  • I wasn't even aware that this was released as a single. They used to do a version live on on stage that had a massive long intro, and was even more stunning than the album version.

  • Just a bloody great band.

  • yellow christian is the best song of the album!

  • Never seen this before - nice!! - i have It bites Live at the town and country - hopefully i'll get round to posting a few clips - nice selection here already :)

  • Thanks for putting this on. Anyone got Kiss Like Judas from the kids saturday morning prog "73"? I'd love to see that again.

  • My God...what a terrible, terrible video for a fantastic song. Frank may be a great guitarist and vocalist, but he's an awful mimer.

  • Also played on Ian Browns Solo Album. The man is brilliant ,I was well into it bites saw them twice , but never seen these vids before ,Great

  • amazing band !!!! shame they wern't huge!!!! quite sad really ,forgot how good they where... once around the world still sounds fresh.. lets hope porcupine tree dont fuck it up

  • Indeed, and also with Santana and Lauren Hill.

  • he also(frank) played on the road with robert plant...

  • Frank also plays on at least two tracks (you can hear it's him on the solos) on Plant's Fate of Nations

  • Frank Dunnery was the last great guitarist to come from the UK, IMO. No surprise he knocked back joining Genesis after It Bites. His brother Barry was guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne before Randy Rhoads, and taught Steve Howe some new guitar techniques along the way. Guess it runs in the family.

  • Has anyone got or know where i can find 'Calling all the heroes'. Good song- can't find it?

  • I've got it somewhere, I just have to find it and upload! I definitely have a version off Top of the Pops which I will upload as soon as i get a spare min

  • Thanks mate.

  • Yep great if you could. I also recall the band playing "All In Red" on one of those 1980s Saturday morning kids shows. It may have been "Multicoloured Swap Shop". A long shot - do you have that as well?

  • Not the best video of all times, really, but one of my fav tracks of It Bites, although this edited version is a bit strange, when you`re used to the much longer original version!

  • It Bites were such a great band... and will continue to be with John Mitchell replacing Frank Dunnery. Four incredible musicians.
