Work? Capitalism doesn't work in the United States. It works in New Zealand, Norway or Sweden. You have the largest food supply in the world and yet millions are going hungry in your country. Between 1980 and 2005, all new income generated in the U.S went to the top 1%. Big corporations have been paying less taxes than middle-class Americans and some have paid no taxes at all in the last 3 years. And actually, if you look at the taxing statistics, the rich 1% pay approximately 1/3 of all taxes paid in the US. Outsourcing is good, it allows corporations to grow and it lifts people up from poverty. Multinational corporations are actually good for the 3rd world and the corporation itself.

If Nike spent a fraction of its yearly advertising budget, they could improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of workers across the third world. And you should do some historical research and you'll find out that the best times, from an economical point of view, in the U.S were when taxes on the rich were the HIGHEST, ranging from 70 - 90%. More taxes won't stop them from "creating jobs", it will simply mean they will have to spend less money on private islands

So all these stories about not enough food and sleeping in factories is often not the responsibility of the corporations themselves. Also, keep in mind that sometimes these jobs are the best these workers have and that they are NOT forced to work there, at least by the corporations themselves.

According to the Institute for International Economics, the average wage paid by foreign companies in low-income countries is twice the average domestic manufacturing wage.
