That was sick. I noticed when you got to the first fast part you picked once for every 6 notes... Is it really played that way? I always thought it was 1 pick every other note and all just pull offs with no hammer ons.

im not really sure how to play it exactly but i think Dan doesn't pick the second string at all on those two fast parts, i think its all hammer ons and pull offs on the second string. its just a technique that a lot of guitarists use. and i think he picks the 1st note and the 3rd note on the first string of both of those fast parts. thats just what i think he does, is all. anyway thanks for watching hope this helps

Well I've seen dan play that live and it looks like he picks ever other note. the way i seen he picked 13 on e, then pulled off to 10, then picked the 12, pulled off to 10 then on the string lower he picks the 12 on that string and pulls off to 10 again. and same when he goes higher and does 15,10,13,10... at least that's what it looks like when i watch him play it.

if you're thinking about soloing i would recommend that you start out with the avarice solo. i think it's their easiest solo and the tapping isnt that hard.
