Yes, it is science fiction. First of all, you're zooming very heavily into a photo, so much that you are seeing square pixels as some of these objects.

Next, it's more likely that even if these were real objects, that they are probably much closer to Earth but appear to be near the sun. Notice how many are not illuminated as if the sun were the light source?

Not to mention that all of us are forced to assume these are uneditied photos.

Sometimes, one can see the streak of an object striking the sun, could this not be what causes some Coronal Mass Ejections of Solar material? Ironically, we seem to get nervous when a Near Earth Asteroid comes near the Earth, but could we not also be devastated by a large asteroid,or comet striking the SUN, ejecting large amounts of molten Sun into space towards the Earth, bathing us with harmful radiation, blistering heat and perhaps even "chunks" of Sun, if the impact was large enough?

They're stars in the background, not planets near the sun. The image was taken in the ultraviolet spectrum, not visible light wave lengths. So the stars light up nice and bright. The dark parts around the stars are areas in another spectrum, infrared, etc.. Basic astronomy. :)
