ZX Spectrum - The Hobbit Completion Part 2 of 2

It is possible to complete the game without getting the ring. Get captured by the elf and after getting out of the red dungeon keep moving south and north until it says the butler throws the barrel down the trap door. Then type JUMP and you are free. After getting the treasure you can get back to the start via the waterfall and if you are lucky you won't meet the elf again.

I got to the waterfall but the elf was dead - how do I get to the elvenhalls from here, or get across the river?

I was very lucky on this run, also i was not captured by the goblins. If I had been, dig sand, repeatedly break trapdoor, and you get a higher score for finding thrains key. Thorin will soon appear in the dungeon to in which case Say to thorin "Carry me", say to thorin "west", or say to thorin "open window, go through" to get out the dungeon.

Pity we didn't get to see your final score at the end. If I remember correctly I only managed to obtain around 78% after completing it.

So many hours spent playing this one. Never thought I would see the completion (especially not the way I was playing it!!) Thank you so much - a little part of my childhood is now complete. :-)
