  • Have a listen to So Sad About Us by The Jam ... pretty similar

  • ratcat crossed over and got to no 1 twice( and i love ratcat) but this song is the greatest of that time. what an injustice

  • thats right there aussie !! such fun times

  • A wonderfully melodic tune.A really good band, definitely their standout tune for me.God the 80's and 90's were a great era for Aus music!

  • This is a great song! Yes, it is before my time but i dig the sound of The Hunmingbirds.

  • Oz poprock rules - the best damned thing about this is that they sincerely look like theyr'e having fun... I really miss this....

  • A great neglected Australian band!

  • What a glorious era this was.

  • Do you think all the great bands from back then Falling Joys, Welcome Mat, Glide etc etc really cared about success, if this music was around these days it would be topping the download charts shorely. JJJ doesnt help these days, are there any good young Sydney bands around now. Oh forgot The Clouds and The Barbarellas were great nights ot also.

Ratcat with Phsycadelic Furs a few years back was brilliant.

  • Was it 20 years ago? I started listening to TripleJJJ in 1989, and this was one of my favourites from that year.

A bit of trivia - "Blush" is mentioned only once - as the final word.

  • takes me back to being 17 or 18.....this was the first band I officially saw as an 18 year old.....(not counting the Louis Tillett support....)

  • @melt1972 lol love it, I saw RatCAt at the Lewisham hotel in Sydney when I was 17 together with Nursery Crimes.

  • remember them playing on the back of a truck driving around brissie promoting their gig that night

  • This has got to be some of the best guitar rock to ever come out of Aus. The harmonies, the lyrics so cutting, the tempo. No wonder the plods out there never got them.

  • @indevelopment plods? the band themselves are from 'out there' you douche... and the music scene was healthy but it was a small place

  • love the dual harmony ..... loved it when it came out ..... want her in my band

  • Damn, drunk and up late, remember this from a loooong time ago and my crush on Allanah Russack, thanks for the upload, still love this song!

  • ha, same here, but still drunk the morning after! ... I met Simon after The H'Birds broke up -he is such a good bloke! I'll say that any chance I can get. A BIG heart has he.

  • @LeonMcS Mate u weren't the only one with a crush on her!!!!!! LOL Actually, Simon lived in Annandale or something, used to walk by him often when I was in high school and was into the Hummingbirds. man what memories.

  • awesome song

  • Great song!
