9 blocks and nothing else. Looks like he was focusing only on that part of the basketball in that game. only 5 points? 5 fouls??? 9 blocks, but with 5 fouls! That was not difficult to block some shots from what I saw in this game and he did that cause he was have to block that shots in many "easyblocking" situations. I don't want to argue, I know there was some great blocks, but only some of them. Not great game from him, IMHO. You have to be all around player if you are great player.

@RSTM23 had no problem with what you said till you said in order to be a great player you have to be an all around player...So your saying players who dont play good defense (Stoudemire, Carmelo, Nash,) aren't great players? Any player can be great to his own personal position. I dont expect my point guard to grab 6 Reb a night and i dont expect 25 out of the 30 starting centers in the league to average more than 20 points.

He keeps people from coming in the the lane, and even when they do get inside AND get a shot off without getting blocked, there shot is still greatly altered because of his presence. He has quicker feet than any other center, and is one of the strongest players in the game. Watch basketball for more than a year and let me know how much u progress.

@lakershd Gasol may be the best OFFENSIVE big man in the game (next to a healthy yao ming) But is a defensive liability when it comes down to guarding strong big men. Thats why the lakers were reluctant to trade bynum this summer because pau would get torn a new buthole if he had to guard guys like dwight. Pau is great yes...but not the best big man, Dwight is.

Dwight averages more points on immensely higher FG%. Pau's a much better passer, obviously, but from a pure scoring standpoint, Dwight has him beat.
