hey im only 18 and i make music for every one to listen to and relate, so whenever you have the time please check out my channel, and tell me what you think...thanks for your time
These guys were the real street legends, not those fake ass gun toting losers you see now. A real badass can be man enough to show up on childrens TV shows and uplift the poor folks they came up from, not shoot them and sell drugs to them, and promote gang life, and keep those they grew up from ever go anywhere. These guys were real. They were hardcore.
Im an artist tryna get my sound heard, id appreciate if u stopped on my channel, my music's gettin a name 4 itself n will not dissapoint . Hope u enjoy "its the kingpin"
i have two questions: is that gangsta rap yet, or not?
and when begun the gangsta rap era? I mean, i have seen the film over Biggie smalls nad then all the guys in the were waring baggy pants in 1983, but i always thought that g-rap had its beginning in in the late not in the early 80's.
Please can someone give me really god answer to all of this?
and in the film they show a foto of kurtis blow wearing biker shorts and golden chains, there he looked like a real g.....
@DerAhlke9877 I wouldn't call it gangsta rap. For me I always thought gangsta rap was hardcore stuff like I am gonna beat you. My brother says Black Sheep was gangsta rap, but I think it was too nice. Good music, but not violent. For me, I think the first gangsta rapsong I heard was "Ghetto Boys-My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me" which is about 1991. I agree with you I think they started producing gangsta rap in the early 90's. Before then rap was real, honest, but not gangsta.
@FuLuShouXi well, actually they have had some artist whom were out around the early 80s such as Boogie Down Productions, Ice-T, to NWA , MC Eiht, Spice-1 & all them, but they were mainly kept underground until it became mainstream from '87 into the early 90s.
@DerAhlke9877 not sure if my reply showed, but I would say 1991 Ghetto Boys - "My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me". Maybe they were showing their lives before gangsta rap was produced. I don't think this is gangsta rap, too innocent, positive, good.
@DerAhlke9877 well, best thing i could tell you is it doesn't really matter what style clothes the rappers where yet it also dose. Run DMC started the whole "hip-hop" fashion look & style & made it noticed by fancy shoes, hats, rings, & chains like what you see today of many artists. Kurtis Blow on the other hand always had & kept swagger. You cant really picture him looking "plain", he had to be "flashy" you kno what i'm sayin
@lilideedee the next light-skinned dude with the mustash & red Kangol hat. DMC is the dude with the glasses, & Jam Master Jay is the dark-skinned thicker dude.
Lots of racist people on the internet. But guys your not helping us blacks look any better by acting ignorant and typing like a 6 year old. This comment box has spell check for a reason.
@gunsnhalen & most of these suckers out here are fake as hell claiming to be from the streets but there not. & so they feel like they have to go & do something fuckin stupid & go to jail just so they can come out with an album claiming to be hard. *smh*
@catfoodtitans i know right? I only know i think maybe 2 songs i got were he spit something. & honestly i think he had a more better flow & sounded pretty fucking good over the beat.
I was too old for Reading Rainbow but was watching MTV when Run DMC started putting out videos. I found it charming how they strived to be the good guys, such as giving their time to such projects.
Geordi Laforge apparently is neglecting his duties on board the Enterprise. No matter, his promotion of reading is a good thing, and he is not blind in our universe and age.
Check Out my site rogerreadingrainbow com I designed the original animation computer system used to film the Feature Books for the first five seasons. The system executed those famous camera pans and zooms over the illustrations of the books. i.e. Abiyoyo, Arthur's Eyes, Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain...etc.etc.
im like listenin to pac all time, the only song from dmc i recall was walk this way
this song is great and its so simple and it even gives a good example, now we have to face ridiculous satanic rappers like jay z and lil wayne BULLSHIT
run dmc was like the start of hip hop, pac was the end..
I never knew Reading Rainbow could be so awesome, old school rappers actually had talent, and it wasn't about drugs, gang banging, or demeaning women, and auto tune didn't exist.
today, i just bought my 2 month son a RUN DMC outfit and knew these rappers sings or rap but thought id check out their music for the first time again. cool, i really like this for my baby NuHop. Ka Ying. Peace out.
*sigh* rap used to have real issues, and the lyrics was about so much and it had a meaning. nowadays, the popular rap (mainstream rap) is all about drugs, money and sex
DMC has something in his hand, and then when Run starts rapping he takes it from his hand and throws it in the garbage can. And then DMC looks in the garbage can and throws his hands up like "What the hell?"
@TheTerrorFromTexas i checked the internet and there is no mention of your statement...could you show proof from a reputable source or is this a rumor. Thanks

@sentrand
Sesamee Street had a little cartoon skit (about a minute long) with a talking typewriter on wheels that they would somtimes show in an episode.
They also somtimes had a little skit with a talking animated man on a salt-shaker (or a glass) who somtimes came out of a counter-top or cubbard.
It was called "The Tiny Little Superguy".
