I used to work at the Ritz in an unnamed property and McCarver to this day still tips $2.00 for anything you do for him.I hear from current friends that he tips like it's 1950,but it's 2010 for Christ's sake! Who made Mc carver go in the lockerroom,,,would have been a different story if he was deluged in the broadcast booth...Tim MCarver famous for catching hall of famers and thinking hes a baseball intellectual...I watched the guy play he sucked, and he was better at that then announcing..He tried to catch on in Philly where he played and was laffed out of the broadcast booth..he actually tried to sit next to Harry Kalas and Rich Asburn..

@KennethKaniffFromCT You're right, man, thanks for the catch and the correction. McCarver played in three World Series as the Cardinals' starting catcher (1964, 1967, 1968), but St. Louis lost the last of those Fall Classics in seven games after grabbing a 3-1 lead on Detroit.
... my bad, I need to be better. By the way, McCarver played in two All-Star games, finished second in the MVP balloting in 1967, and curiously enough, led the NL in triples in 1966 despite being a catcher.
