  • It's funny, I went to a Jesuit college, and one of my professors was this Mexican priest who is exactly like this guy. Same accent and demeanor.

  • So true...that's all I got out of economics and it's been 10 years!

  • @DMBKristen41 I know same for me with the Spanish!

  • It's funny because it's so flippin true

  • Wasn't he on the movie Casper??!?

  • great vid!

still good for a belly laugh

  • Comment removed

  • 3:30 I can't believe we used to dress like that.

  • whats funny is that its only 4 minutes...

  • @TheDiaryHollyUnded well you do need a minute to take the pictures. haha

  • no america is not any ones hope wake up sheep

  • Genius because it's true!

  • I wish college was like that

  • This is the kind of counter-intellectualism which I call, "snake eating itself."

Ninety percent of college grads know america is lost.

Ten percent of high school grads know same.

Folks go to college in hope for a better future, or in desperate fear of underemployment.

You stupid american trolls should join the military.

Here's a little advice....count your legs before you leave our shores.

obtw, me history grad. engineers, doctors, lawyers don't know s 'bout history.

    They will repeat it.

  • @profnasty Jesus dude, get over yourself. The skit is funny because it contains elements of truth. Of course it's not 100% accurate, but since it's a comedy routine, it doesn't have to be. If you're so educated, why don't you know this?

  • @profnasty .....america is lost.....nope......america was and still is the world's only hope.....

  • @jrjacobsil Sorry I think you have misspelt "dope" as "hope".

  • @profnasty

    do you have a job?

  • @profnasty They got these things called books and mentors that do the job for a fraction of the cost...you can actually become a lawyer in Cali and other states by "reading law" -- no law school, but you have to take the bar and apprentice for a lawyer -- like abe lincoln used to do. Refusing to pay 50K/yr for college because your parents sent your older sister first and cant afford to send you isn't counter-intellectualism, is called pragmatism.

  • 22 people are college professors.

  • see... Italians are funny

-not those fat, ugly orange... things...

  • he was so brilliant

  • oh if college was only that easy...hahah

  • This is hilarious, but sadly absolutely true. College is a gigantic scam.

  • @StringerDCUO I figured more people would have watched Atlantis.

  • I can remember 5 minutes from the last 15 years.

My main memories retained are puking and waking up in strange houses.

  • This is funny. and True.

  • He's got the point. What do you remember from your college? I can't remember my calculus anymore!!! How sad is that!!!

  • he sounds like guy from ze world cartoon, bout blowing up

  • "Combination of Disney (porn for kids) & Roman Catholic philosophy"... ironically, a completely compatible combination

WOW, you learn something new every 5 minutes at "Saint Sarducci's State" of the ASSumption of the Adolescent Consumption

  • My professor loves Father Guido! He even showed this video in class!

  • 16 people spent $20,000 dollars a year to get a degree

  • I like this video. Thank you for your sharing. Hope to see next your video.

  • 9 out of 10 college graduates with a Computer Science major do not know how to program. Does someone else see a bit of irony here?

  • @KyvannShrike My mistake was thinking computer science (CS) = software engineering (SE). It does not. A CS graduate does not know how to program because they are studying complexity of algorithms, optimization of routines, and other mathematics. CS should really stand for Computational Science, as it is more a specialty of math than computers. I think many CS majors who want to be admins would prefer going to business school in Information Systems.

  • If only all priests were like this guy.

  • Thank you. Your video is great.

  • OMB that's halarious. The best part is that it's true. I don't remember half the stuff I learned less than a year ago

  • FUN!

  • One of the gem performers from the original SNL 1975-1979. I also liked A. Whitney Brown from the 80s.

  • i wish highschool was 5 minutes :(

  • come on ppl,hes a comedian,i agree with william, but the jugglingidiot,u just didnt get it........

I am just kidding... It's rough out there...

  • that is still funny as hell 30 years later

  • The best!

  • what an awesome bit.

  • Very true.

  • Jay bless him and his good deeds.

  • this is so right, I'm in college and took two spanish classes, and he has it right. I can say ban yo. Maybe Baseball.

  • Donde esta el bano? Y una otra cerveza por favor !

  • what about math

  • @Yosemited nobody remembers anything from math

  • @MidwesternDiva So true!!!! Especially math <_<

I and so many other people can relate to this.

I mean, so much of college is a waste of time in the long run, and what you actually remember is a tiny fraction of what they made you study for.

I just want my degree so I can get on with my life.

  • @Yosemited use a damn calculator!

    =/ my 2 cents

  • For all you college grads and about to be grads, check out this video. We watched it in class and it is so incredibly true!

  • THINGS THAT ARE TRUE, THIS!!!!!!!!!

  • This is so funny because it's SO true!

For example, I've finally finished applying to colleges, so the funniest part for me is the "$20 may seem expensive, but..." because that's what every college says; "$30,000 a year may seem expensive, but..."

  • My new favorite comedy act for more reasons than I can possibly list. Thanks to my Dad for showing it me.

  • Hate to tell you kids but it's true! I took two years of French almost thirty years ago in college. Today: What is French? HA!

  • I took 12 years of french from 3rd grade to my second year of college. Then, years later I went to France and couldn't speak a word of it. Some 4 year old child in a Paris cafe spoke it perfectly but I couldn't. On the other hand, the little kid probably couldn't speak english as well as I do.

  • lmaooooooooooo

  • calwillnol: Did you mean "syntax?" What's "syntrax?"

  • The demolitions guy from the Disney movie Atlantis sounds like him...modeled after him maybe?

  • he does the voice for both of them

  • Its funny, but at the same time its also true. people dont remember $hit because the (american) educational system (at least in my experience) is set up so that you remember stuff for the test and then regurgutate the information when the test comes. and for this reason it is also sad.

  • just goes to show that you don't actually use a lot of that information.

  • I could agree with you on perhaps spanish, especially if you dont go to a spanish speaing country, but my point is that people really never learned anything in the first place. They were taught from a young age to be able to memorize information and be able to spit it back on a test for a number on a piece of paper. This is why the American education system is so lacking.

  • I think the real reason it's lacking is because there isn't enough competition because there isn't school choice from K-12 levels, and also because a lot of it is over information you never use. If people REALLY needed this information, they wouldn't forget it because they'd be using it. However if you don't use it, you tend to forget it as it gets overwritten in your brain by information you DO use.

  • You do present a good point. There is a lot of unnecessary information that is taught. In the Italian educational system, high schools are set up like American colleges. Which sucks on the one hand if you're undecided, but it also focuses your education on a couple of subjects, instead of taking all different subjects in high school, and then taking core courses in college, you learn about what you want.

  • @kevinb828 I think the problem is that the education isn't specific to the individual's practical need. Inevitably you have to learn a lot of crap you're never going to use ... just filling up your bean with stuff you're bound to forget. The brain DELETES irrelevant garbage after a certain period to keep you sane.

  • kevinb828. As a professor iin both English Lit and Advanced Calculus I had so many students such as you who expected that we spoonfeed you. How about a little effort on your part? Question authority. Tell your profs that you want to learn to think! You need to learn analysis and synergy but that does take a certain amt of energy on your part.

I got so tired of lazy students such as you!

  • @calwillnol As a current university student studying majoring in both Physics and Computer Science I have to agree with you for the most part. I find that when I ask tough questions to the prof, it is perhaps the greatest learning experience. Unfortunately there are some professors out there who can either not answer the question well or seem to dodge the question entirely. Regardless when I have a prof who answers tough questions it really motivates me to learn.

  • Do you feel that tenure allows professors to get away with teaching less?

  • It is funny because it is true.

  • I love it...

  • ROFL!!!!! I totally agree!!!!

  • Got aother minute !! lmao

  • Father Guido lives! I'm sitting here in my Father Guido costume about to head out to a neighborhood Halloween party. Hope they have a bocce tournament!

  • Its true

  • Had had two yrs of college Spanish and he's absolutely right!

  • Brava! Brava!

  • I had to watch this video as part of an essay assignment in my English class...wow, he hit the nail on the head with his one! FUNNY!

  • ahahaha this is great

  • Saturday Night Live - people! Funny!

  • This guy is awesome!!!

  • was this guy in casper?

  • I was just thinking the same thing.

  • Wow, I think this is where Bruno got his idea from. Hmmm

  • dude looks super freaky but was funny as hell

  • GENIUS!!!

  • the best!!!

  • After getting my BA degree in economics and also getting a law degree more than 20 years ago, I assure you Fr. Sarducci is almost right on the mark about what you remember & learn from that experience. He's hilarious. The real world is where you get your education and it's an on-going process every day.

  • @WilliamRowlett really? wow man original what are you - illuminati?

  • This is great! Quite funny.!

  • Is this guy a real priest?

  • no, he is not a real priest. He bought his dress from some fleamarket and pretend to be a priest since then. He is such a great guy even though he is not a real priest.

  • Probably my favorite bit from this album- never knew there was a video. Great piece- thanks for posting it!

  • That was funny. Was he smoking a cigarette? Lol.

  • this guys the man!

  • he should be the new pope great fun

  • This is great!

  • is he actually a priest?

  • Nope...he's a former standup comic guy named Don Novello...

  • The clip is actually depressing...from the perspective of a a current college student

  • jugglingnebula - you still gotta go through the process, unless you want to work in a factory (which will soon be moving to Guatemala). School is just to show employers that you can function and finish what you start... You learn your field after you start working in it.

  • @jugglingnebula depressing.. yet soooo so true

  • @jugglingnebula hahaha ya so true

  • @jugglingnebula Think about how we prospective students feel.

  • @jugglingnebula Sad but true.

  • @jugglingnebula shutup fag go outside and ride a bike or something

  • @jugglingnebula 25 yrs later I'm feeling like all of a sudden I'm getting it! It's worth the time and effort in more ways than you'll ever know. I studied French Lit and had no idea how much deconstructionism has affected us as a society - tv, theater, psychology, politics, until now and how we're evolving to creative constructive approach to building our society. It's fascinating. Don't give up on school. It's totally worth it in ways you'd never imagine later.

  • Sorry. "moustache".

  • Very funny (looking). Why all Americans wear moustashe?

  • has guido sarducci , ever been in a porn movie ?

  • poignant. FGS where is ah he now?
