the funny part was he never topped his playing on that album, not with creem or blind faith, and his solo stuff always put me to sleep. but he defitnitly left his mark on that record.
Love it - I listened to this tune all the way in to work this morning (hour commute). It is a great solo. I have to learn the whole tune now. Did you learn the solo by ear or did you use tab? If you have tab, where did you find it? Thanks!
I did this by ear I'm afraid. I have done the full version of the song now on another video. There is a tab somewhere I think, but can't remember where, try a google search - "mike's guitar site" or something??
Nice job: I just learned it and posted my version: Search: Evan little girl mayall
Good job again,
Evan

indeed. If only I was. His playing on that album is up there with Page on Zeppelin 2, and Green on the early Fleetwood Mac stuff. Its unrepeatable.

thats to some extent true, he never matched that intensity and real feel for the blues - did the drink and drugs do it?!

You nailed it, one of my favorite solos I learned many years ago. When you can play like that in a blues scale, why learn any other scales?
BearMelt 4 years ago
exactly. Its one of clapton's best, just a perfect blues guitar solo, has tension, direction and flair.
