  • Thanks andrew for your tutorials your tutorials helped me lot in configuring and working but where to ask doubts for some of the concepts in cake php .

  • Hey Andrew, thanks for the tutorials. I am curious about this framework, do you think it is as good as Zend or Symphony? Thanks

  • @CamiloSanchez1979 I have never used Zendframework and have only briefly messed around with Symfony. I'm sure they are excellent frameworks as they have large communities and are very popular. I can't comment about either with my lack of experience with them, sorry.

  • hi hey i have 2 warnings Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at

  • really your videos are the best tutorials i have ever seen in cakephp .. thanks sooo much :)

  • I had the same mistake as Countertt. For me, the form wasn't populating because I forgot to capitalize 'Post' on the edit.ctp page when using the $form->create helper

  • I'm having trouble of which I have followed your coding code by code, based on my observation. I'm not so sure if i'm missing anything but the form is not able to echo? the current data into the form nor save the data, can you help me?

  • @countertt And instead of updating the row, it inserts a new row of data :/

  • @countertt You may have something messed up. Notice in the edit action the if conditional is checking if it IS empty. Unlike in the add action it checks if it IS NOT empty. Make sure you are filling $this->data in the is empty conditional part and only trying to save if it is not empty. If it's creating a new record and not updating you are not setting the posts id. It has to be a hidden field. I hope this helps to clarify things.

  • @andrewperk and btw, GREAT JOB on the videos! really helped me alot on understanding the framework/system :D THANKS A LOT :)

  • @countertt oh wait, nevermind, i just spotted my mistake :/. . .

  • Great tutorials mate.. I just noticed, that I don't really need the hidden input of id inisde form, when editing post.. seems like cakephp (v1.3.2) is taking id value from the form action url ;)
