1. Modifying the schedule because Datsyuk and Lidstrom were injured, not suspending Malkin when the rules are clear, and screwing with the refs. Yeah, Detroit wasn't screwed at all. Went down the Eastern border last year, EVERYBODY who isn't a Pittsburgh fan who saw us wearing Wings hats/shirts said we got screwed.

2. Bettman has been hated for a long time before this because he's a douche bags. You can watch videos of all star games from 4 years ago and he gets the shit booed outta him.

The NHL rulebook clearly states that an instigator penalty taken in the last 5 minutes of regulation is an AUTOMATIC one game suspension. It's a stupid rule, I have no problem admitting that, but you don't change rules in the middle of the playoffs just to suit you.

Well, I'm either ignorant about it.. or maybe.. Bettman's history with Detriot wasn't in the context of the point I was trying to make. So I'll spell it out: fans of the SC runner-up always use Bettman and the refs as a scapegoat. I'm sick of fans being unable to accept that their team lost without making up highly unlikely conspiracy theories.

Detriot fans are no different in that respect, no matter how much you want to deny that the Pens won honestly and were the better team over 7 games.

The games were moved to boost television ratings on NBC because it was right at the start of sweeps. It wasn't so Detriot would get screwed. It was strictly business and apparently, it didn't matter either way since Detriot won both of those games. The games might have been back-to-back, but the next series in the playoffs almost always starts as soon as the two teams are known.

I don't know how anyone can watch this and think the fans are booing the Pens. Compare the sounds of when Bettman grabs the mic at 15 seconds, and when Crosby lifts the trophy at 1:00. Christ, the booing almost completely stops the second Crosby lays his hand on the Cup.

It's time for Bettman to step away from presenting the Stanley Cup. The greatest trophy in sports should not be subjected to rampant booing while being presented. Of course, every true hockey fan should boo Bettman vigorously at every opportunity. So punt him out of there at presentation time and replace the midget with former player greats. Not sure of precisely why Gary Bettman turns his back after handing it off, but I've got a hunch that his first order of business after handing off the cup may have been to get himself and his dress shoes away from the ice and completely onto the carpet where he's far less likely to slip and fall.
